The Winner's Crime

By: Marie Rutkoski

Narrated by: Justine Eyre

Following your heart can be a crime

A royal wedding is what most girls dream about. It means one celebration after another: balls, fireworks, and revelry until dawn. But to Kestrel it means living in a cage of her own making. As the wedding approaches, she aches to tell Arin the truth about her engagement: that she agreed to marry the crown prince in exchange for Arin’s freedom. But can Kestrel trust Arin? Can she even trust herself? For Kestrel is becoming very good at deception. She’s working as a spy in the court. If caught, she’ll be exposed as a traitor to her country. Yet she can’t help searching for a way to change her ruthless　world . . . and she is close to uncovering a shocking secret.

This dazzling follow-up to The Winner’s Curse reveals the high price of dangerous lies and untrustworthy alliances. The truth will come out, and when it does, Kestrel and Arin will learn just how much their crimes will cost them.

A sequel that's even better than book 1?

If there's one thing I love in my books, it's political intrigue, and this series is full of it! It's very reminiscent of the Folk of the Air series in that way. There were so many twists and turns and new characters to love! And that ending had me immediately reaching for book 3!

great book

it took awhile to get into the second book but it's just as good as the first. I enjoyed the narrator and the accents used to make it more authentic. overall a great listen

One of my all-time favorite love stories

It’s a Great second installment with a killer voice performance that brings the characters to life. Even when the story seems to slow, the beauty of the writing shines through. I don’t think This book had as much poetic foreshadowing as the first book, sadly, but it had plenty of irony and drama

new classic star crossed love

I loved it! The heroine isn't a typical cry, or woe is me character. She's clever, refreshing and the author really made me as the reader care about her story. The cliff hanger is killing me I can't wait for the 3rd book!!!!

amazing

Great book in trilogy. I can't wait for the final book at the end of March. It's going to be a long wait. Love the narrator. I always pre-listen to them before I purchase a audio book and she is one of my favorites so much that I purchased two others that she has done.
