A huge, tall, muscular man comes to her rescue. She’s being saved by Bigfoot - and he’s the sexiest thing she’s ever seen. The attraction between them is instant, and after spending a little time with him, Casey wants to take him home and keep him.

There are a few problems with that plan. He’s not the legendary creature, but he definitely isn’t human. Argernon is a warrior from Zorn. They do have one thing in common - he wants to take her home and keep her. He’s kidnapping Casey.

Irrational women

Oftentimes, I read these romances and think about that quote from “As Good as it Gets,” when Jack Nicholson says “I think of a man and then take away all reason and accountability.” That description fits almost every leading lady. What’s even more irksome than the negative archetype being perpetuated is that most of the novels are written by women. Can no one make a valid, compelling argument? Do none of them know how to be upset without whining and sulking? And the way they all fly off the handle when they have partial information or listen to women motivated by jealousy? They’re not only irrational, they are also insecure.

I had to fast forward entire chapters because I couldn’t tolerate Casey’s inability to put two and two together for herself. She is a drama queen. Who feels betrayed by what a man does before he met you? Or the loose ends he has to tie back home if he met you out of town. It makes no sense! What is there to forgive? Nothing at all, but she goes on with this same inane argument for chapters. It’s like the author just ran out of things to say and couldn’t stop writing until she met her word count. There should have been more conflict contrived in the plot! This narrative device did not work! I may not ever read another book by Dohner fot fear I may suffer a similar fate as a reader.

I really liked this book it has some funny moments when Casey thought he was bigfoot.

Not the best in the series!

While I love Laurann Dohner's books, this is not one of my favorites. And I think the narrator is just awful. Her voice is monotone and she shows no emotion. You really can't tell one character from another by listening to her voice. I think it's a shame that Laurann Dohner uses her almost exclusively to voice her books.

Zorn Book 2 Yes

This book in the series does a fair job of drawing you into the character's interactions; dare I say relationship? The whole series is over 21 material and yummy when that's what you're looking for. Narration is weak on male characters, but works in general. Well worth my purchase on sale.
