Peter Duck

A Treasure Hunt in the Caribbees (Swallows and Amazons Series)

By: Arthur Ransome

Narrated by: Alison Larkin

For anyone who loves sailing and adventure, Arthur Ransome's classic Swallows and Amazons series stands alone. Originally published in the UK over a half century ago, these books are still eagerly read by children, despite their length and their decidedly British protagonists.

We attribute their success to two facts: first, Ransome is a great storyteller, and second, he clearly writes from first-hand experience. Independence and initiative are qualities any child can understand and every volume in this collection celebrates these virtues.

The third book in Arthur Ransome's wonderful series for children, Peter Duck takes intrepid explorers John, Susan, Titty, and Roger Walker, and fearsome Amazon pirates Nancy and Peggy Blackett, onto the high seas. Under the command of the infamous Captain Flint (Nancy and Peggy's Uncle Jim), the children brave a real-life pirate and his cutthroat crew, fog, sharks, and the ravenous crabs of Crab Island in the search for buried treasure.

All 12 novels in the Swallows and Amazons series have been brought to life in the US in print by David R. Godine, Publisher.

Perfect adventure

For a child who loves to imagine an adventure that’s just a little outlandish yet still plausible, there’s nothing like Arthur Ransome. Highly recommended for a fun summertime listen.

Great story,

Very good story for children. The island is very crazy when exciting things happen to them . I just love this book.😊🤗

Fantastic

One of a kind, delightful warm-hearted characters and thrilling adventures on the sea. Mr. Duck is a gem, and Allison Larkin puts sparkle into the story beyond the average read aloud.

Loved it

Action packed, very different from the other Swallows and Amazons books. Good for if you want something different.

Love it!

I love this book! It is as amazing, fun, and exciting as the first one! Totally recommend this for anyone who likes adventure stories.
