Like a Chinese one thousand and one nights
I am a twelve year old boy who loves culture and this book fascinated me. The fact that stories never die is very present as well as the love of culture building stories. I would recommend this book to children fascinated by culture as well as parents who want to show their children this concept of a story and it's importance.
PS: this novel was so intriguing that I took time off playing video games just to write this review.

We enjoyed the stories within the story
My children (ages 5 and 8.5) enjoyed the book, but I kept noticing the black and white portrayal of the emperor, servants. The novel's construction feels like a beginner's attempt at a novel. The story is sewn with thick thread as we say in Poland.

I read this book when I was a child and the story, the description, and the details are stunning. The narrator has a beautiful voice and the stories within the book are captivating. I highly recommend listening or reading this book.

Beautifully told story
My 6 year old and I listened to this on a road trip and loved every bit of it. The author tells the story with beautiful images that bring it to life for kids. Highly recommend.
