kyoshi made me feel empowered. she helped me escape from dreary reality. I didn't hate my life like a normally do while reading/listening to this book.

Great Story!

I like the Rise of Kyoshi better, but this is a decent sequel. I like how in this book you get learn more about past avatars while Kyoshi is in the process of owning her position as the current avatar.

exciting and very well written excellent plot easy to follow story line. looking forward to another story.

Kyoshi!

This story perfectly captured the tone of avatar. Listening to it felt just like watching ATLA as a kid. Each character has their own motivations and goals that push the story forward in a way I have rarely seen outside of the original ATLA show. This is an absolute must-read.

Yee and Wu are a great pair.

The writings of Yee are enhanced by Wu's performance in this masterful prologue into Kyoshi's Avatar-hood. Just like other chapters of this world, it ends when the Avatar becomes a fully realized one. I always hope for more, but ultimately it does have a satisfying ending here, as does Korra and TLA.
