Insightful and eye-opening 3-pack

This group of three books is a much-needed and much-appreciated dive into understanding autism and how it affects many people differently. My roommate has suspected that he’s autistic but keeps putting off getting a diagnosis, I found a lot of overlap in his mannerisms/idiosyncrasies with the third book’s list of behaviors and overstimulating triggers. This has given me the tools to start the conversation, while removing as much unconscious judgement and blind ignorance as possible to have an ongoing constructive dialogue. Even just adjusting our wording can have a profound impact in changing how we view and perceive autistic people; having autism isn’t a stigma or disease, but rather a different way of thinking and interacting with the world that has many positives in its distinct thought processes. This has opened the door to my better understanding of neurodiversity, I can’t recommend this book enough!

A great perspective on dealing with autism

The reason that I liked this book is because it is VERY thorough. It explains many of the details that parents face when dealing with an autistic you. But I truly like the title as this books "Celebrates" the diversity of the condition. To go a step further in dealing with parental decisions of these current time of Masking or not to mask, shows that this author has taken an extra step! The book also illustrates that "playing" is a vital and necessary daily structure in the child's life.
