Publisher's summary

Warrick is in danger, Caldor struggles to grow strong enough to challenge the Chaos threat, and to top it all off, Zander’s going to act as their healer for the next dungeon run.

Caldor is going to be busy.

He suffers from a recurring dream where his friend and mentor, Warrick, calls out to him for help. But how can he help someone he can’t find? His new found wealth and status as an Awakened Adventurer aren’t the answer, but they do offer a distraction from the haunting dreams.

Struggling to balance his new life and responsibilities, Caldor does all that he can to grow stronger and explore his new abilities. When Lord Variyn’s brother asks him a favor, he is hesitant to help. He wants Caldor to take his son on a dungeon run, something Caldor normally would love to do, except that his son is none other than Zander Variyn.
How can he trust him to watch his back and keep his team healed when he’s literally tried to kill Caldor before? Read and find out in the latest installment of the Order & Chaos Saga, Arcane Knight Book 2.

This is a LitRPG book with a "system"-levels, stats, and cool abilities. No Harem and loads of fun violence.

Even better than book 1

I'll admit that the first few hours of this book didn't do anything for me. It seemed to be all setup for something later on (since we know that our MC isn't ready for it yet) and not something to sink your teeth into right now. Well it was worth the wait. I stuck with it because book one was so good that I had to curb my impatience and push through just a little longer. The reward was one heckuva story that progressed well beyond what I was expecting. If you are bored with the beginning of this book, just push through a little longer and you to shall be rewarded with hours of really good progression with the story. Some of the dungeon scenes were excellent! Once again Ronnie and Tiffany made this a great listening experience.

I was given a free code in exchange for an early and honest review. I'm actually a few days late.

Great book 2!

If you've read book one, which you should before reading book two; don't be a psychopath, read a series in order...
Where was I?
Oh, yeah.
If you liked book one you're going like book two even more.
I'm grateful that I was able to get this book for free with the expectation of an honest review.
Not Harem. Good fantasy LitRPG (ish). Probably one of the least crunchy LitRPG series I've ever read. Maybe it's just fantasy.
Whatever it is it's riding the line.
And it's a great series. 😁

That was even better than the first!!!

This series is a gem and half! I’m having a lot of fun with experiencing it! And it is an “experience,” with the narrators and the efforts they put into each character. And the emotion feels organic which is a lot better than MANY I have heard!
I am also grateful to this opportunity from Royal Guard and the gift of the code for this review copy!

Now, I don’t want to overdo this so I’ll mention that I really enjoy the litrpg progression, skill/magic system(s), classes and professions that the author worked up for this series. I hope to see a lot more of it going forward. We get some minor base building, business development and of course more dungeon diving in this one than I think the first had.
The story has some terrific character development for several characters, not just the MC. Which is definitely my preference. The balance is a hard one. Which I would say the author did a great job! The MC obviously had the most. The relationship development with MC and his love interest (No name just in case a new reader skips ahead) is more ironed out with it not being too dramatic or drawing from the the actual main aspects of a litrpg story. But the aspects of events do march on towards the end of this book… and not to be too dramatic or cliche but a storm is on the horizon with the thunder rumbling with the herald of great conflict! The next one should be interesting with the shift in the narrative of adventuring with a more “lighter” feel to it…

Enough from me, come see for yourselves!

another great entry

i found this one to be just as good and enjoyable as the first one. the narration was fantastic as always. the story still moves a little slow at times but the action makes up for it when it happens imo. overall if you liked the book 1, you'll like book 2 just as much

great follow up

this book was every bit as good as the first. it's a long "slower" book but the mc has a lot of irons in the fire and they all need proper attention. but by no means is it slow. there plenty of detailed action, political intrigue, crafting and leveling up. it's the prefect pace for a person looking to get immersed into a story. It really made me want to start a new character on skyrim. the narration was top notch also.

Love this Story, and this MC

This Book series has exactly what I need. I have always thought what a waste it is that soo many MC start their journey alone. The MC here brings his childhood friends with him, going back and investing lots of time and money to bring them up as he acends.

Fantastic second book

This is an excellent series for those people that like books that combine gameplay and storytelling with leveling and adventure and just a fantastic group of characters

Great Series Continuation

There is a lot of story continuation in this book and its great. I am really enjoying the story as a whole and I am really excited to see where this story goes. I have really enjoyed the MC. I really enjoy the characters who are more real to life and struggle with right and wrong and all the emotions in-between.

Ronnie Rowlands and Tiffany Suzuki are an awesome narration duo and continue to give an awesome performance with this series.
