Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she is the best - but she does not know if even she is good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, Elena knows failure is not an option - even if the task is impossible. Because this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad.
The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other - and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt does not destroy her, succumbing to Raphael's seductive touch just might. For when archangels play, mortals break.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I wasn't a huge fan of this narrator, but that's just my own personal preference. What I've found with all of the reviews I've read is that there are many people who complain about narrators that I felt did a fine job, so although this particular narrator didn't really appeal to me, you may love her.Any additional comments?
I wanted to take a minute to write about the first 2 books in this series because there were mixed reviews while I was trying to decide if I wanted to take the chance on them. I absolutely love Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series and have read many of the books in that series multiple times. After listening to several other series in the same genre and not truly feeling satisfied, I decided to try Nalini's Guild Hunter series as well.I agree with some of the other reviews stating that this series is a little dark, but the books are interesting and well-written nonetheless. In the first book in this series, Angel's Blood, I didn't feel like the chemistry between the two main characters was developed/described well enough and felt like it ended without satisfaction in some sense. Then I realized that book 2 in the series further developed the story between Raphael and Elena. After finishing the 2nd book, Archangel's Kiss, I feel much better about the series and look forward to listening to the next Guild Hunter book.
A little dark, but still a very good read...

This was a decent start to this paranormal romance series. In general this was a pretty typical paranormal romance.
The main heroine, Elena, has special Hunter powers that make her stronger than normal and overworks herself like crazy (like many UF and PNR heroines). The male lead, Raphael, is your typical over protective alpha male (although he tries to temper himself to allow Elena room). I enjoyed Elena’s relationship with her best friend; they have a funny and cute friendship that added a lot to the story.
I did enjoy the reimaging of a world run by angels and how vampires related to the angels; the explanation behind this was well done. I also enjoyed the twist the story took at the end.
Overall this was an engaging read but not all the different from many of the other PNR series out there. I thought some of the elements in the world were interesting (angles and how vampires relate to them). I didn’t really enjoy Raphael as a character all that much...too alpha male, but I know a lot of PNR readers dig that. I enjoyed the book well enough but am not sure if I will continue the series or not at this point.
Fairly typical PNR with good world building.

What did you love best about Angels' Blood?
I loved the humour and the story overall. What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I liked the different voices. It was nice that each one was unique and recognizable.Excellent series. I wish there were more.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Cat and Bones and Dragoes and Pia have me spoiled....these characters were just ok.Would you be willing to try another book from Nalini Singh? Why or why not?
Yes....maybe.What about Justine Eyre’s performance did you like?
I thought she did a good job, the characters were well differentiated.Did Angels' Blood inspire you to do anything?
noAny additional comments?
I don't think I will continue on with the series.Just ok...there are much better out there.

I could have done without all the heavy duty "hot" stuff, Hot stuff is okay if it's part of the story, but bending the plot so that there can be hot stuff gets tiresome. I want to know what happens next, not who happens naked.
The link between angels and vampires was really, really interesting, and it's what makes this book stand out from other stories.
The narrator is excellent. She creates characters by voice alone--you don't need "Mr X Said" to understand which character is speaking. Her inflections and intonations are just fabulous. I'll be looking for other books narrated by her, she's that good.
The ending. . . well. . . just okay. The story built up and concluded, then there's an epilogue-like addition. . .could have done without it!
But, it was a really fun story, I will be listening to the next book in the series!
