Publisher's Summary

This richly nuanced novel tells of an ordinary man faced with an incredible dilemma - to save his wife's life he must risk losing her forever.

Michaela, beloved wife and mother of two, lies in a coma. Doctors have told her husband Liam not to expect a recovery, but he maintains hope that love can accomplish what medicine cannot. Day after day, he sits by her bedside, holding her hand, sharing the stories of their life together.

Then he discovers the evidence of his wife's secret past - a long hidden first marriage to international movie star Julian True. When he sees photos of her glowing happiness with Julian, he knows the actor was more than simply Michaela's first husband. He was the love of her life. Liam senses that Julian is the one person who can bring her back to life, but at what cost? Can Liam love his wife enough to risk losing her to a man no woman could resist?

Narrator does a terrible job with different voices.

The book overall wasn’t terrible but definitely wasn’t my favorite by this author. The narrator was okay to listen to when he was speaking as Liam. But doing any of the other characters was painful to listen to. His Rosa voice sounded like a bad pirate impersonation.

Not a great book

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't imagine anyone who would find this book enjoyable

What do you think your next listen will be?

A different Kristin Hannah book

How could the performance have been better?

I usually enjoy this narrator but not for this book. I could not stand the tone used for Brett's voice. It grated on my nerves so bad I almost quit listening several times. I just thought it might turn the corner and get better.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. Kristen Hannah books are not usually so blah.

Any additional comments?

I would not recommend this book.

Not my favorite Kristin Hahhah

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The story was slow and nothing special. Felt like a old Danielle Steele. Other books I have read from Kristin have been superior so maybe reason I was a little disappointed.

What three words best describe Bruce Reizen’s performance?

Good, liked him fine

Did Angel Falls inspire you to do anything?

No

Any additional comments?

Her other books were just superior

Long-winded and overly descriptive

I'm sorry, I usually like her novels but I really did not like this one. It was so drawn out and long-winded. Entire Pages would go by where nothing would happen and it would be entirely descriptions of the wall and environment.

No surprises

Nice story, good writing details and reading was good, just I could have guessed the entire story at the beginning.

Mediocre at best

I think I keep expecting all Kristen Hannah novels to be as good as the first 2 or 3 and they just are not. This one I really hated the sound of the narrator's voice when reading female and young peoples parts. Why he was chosen I have no idea. The part of the woman's 9 year old son was almost comical. I don't know of any child that age that still calls their mother 'mommy' or sucks their thumb when upset. And the voice of her first husband! Was that suppose to be a Texas accent or a hick? You got me!? Maybe it's just me. All in all it was just a disappointment and I'd rather have my credit back.

Good beach read

Perfect to listen to on the beach! Narration is a bit annoying with accents used.

Terrible Narrator

Would you listen to Angel Falls again? Why?

I would not. I'm a big fan of her writing but the narrator of this story sounded like a robot voice. I could hardly take it. I am very partial to female narrators of novels of this style. His voice drove me nuts and was very distracting from the story.

Disappointing

I am a HUGE Kristin Hannah fan, but this one fell short. I just could not connect with the characters. Pick another-Once in Every Lifetime is an excellent choice.

A beautiful story, with all emotions coming out, love reading Kristan Hannah books and this lived up to her standards. Excellent narration., bring out the characters, so you felt you knew them.
