Allegiant started a bit different than what i have expected, and it went in a weird pace.. I felt things were going fast and slow at the same time, specially planning and executing these plans, were a bit fast... if you compare this book to the first and second one, i would say this one had some issues, everything was rushed, and problems were solved tooo quickly, not a big fan of such things
Putting these issues and other aside, I liked the book, you get to know whats going on in the world and why things are in this way. its ending was good, but again, it went too fast.. It should have been a bigger book, i think that would have solved this and it would earn 5 stars ..
Narration was good.. But i'm never a big fan of having 2 voices for each character in a book... its annoying as you need to get used to it.
Overall good book, and a good trilogy... if you liked the hunger games, you will like this trilogy as well.
I Expected Something Else!! Not Bad

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, because you cannot just leave off on book 2 even though I am now completely heart brokenWhat other book might you compare Allegiant to and why?
Maybe the maze runner series or even the Hunger games trilogy, no reason this trilogy just remined me of those booksWhich character – as performed by Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford – was your favorite?
I have two (1)Triss (2)FourWas there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, When it came down to who was actually breaking into the vault and the reprocussions of those actions. I listen at work so here I am sobbing in my office.Any additional comments?
The trilogy was awesome, however, I am completely heart broken and I am very angy at the author for doing what she did, it didn't have to end this way, I'm not sure I want to read it again and now I'm not so excited about the books being made into movies. The ending really sucks.Hurt and crushed

I won't include any spoilers, but any author needs to take a hard look at the consequences of making such a story choice to end their tale. There was no driving need to take the course that was taken. Maybe the characters we too focussed on their internal struggles to realize that there were several optional courses of action available to them that would have resulted in a much more satisfying outcome for the reader.
The book started off by undermining much of what had been previously presented that made the story so compelling. And while the characters were trying to absorb these changes, they repeatedly took drastic actions based on very little information that ultimately lead to tragic results.
The book began to feel like the author was using the plot to drive the characters to a place she wanted to them to be when it was all over, rather than the characters driving the plot.
On a side note, I noticed this series is being made into a feature film (probably 3), but so much of what happens is the internal struggles of these characters (especially in this book), that it's going to be a challenge to put it on a screen.
The readers' performances were excellent.
Unexpectedly Disappointing

I'll do my best to avoid spoilers as I expand on that.
Veronica Roth did a fantastic job of making us fall in love (and hate) with the inhabitants of her dystopian world in Divergent and Insurgent. First person narration gives us a very intimate understanding of the characters and their motives (and gave me a clue that filled me with dread throughout Allegiant).
In Allegiant, we travel along with those characters that we've come to love and hate as they confront some very adult concepts. Among those concepts are genetic modification, genocide, prejudice (even the 'benign' forms of prejudice - something akin to Affirmative Action), forgiveness, sacrifice, and living in a glass bowl with the oversight of a too-powerful centralized government. The difference between sacrifice and waste of life was explored in Insurgent. In Allegiant, that discussion is taken further.
This is a thought provoking read for young readers and adults alike. I predict this will be one of those novels that really "sticks" with a young reader. It packs an emotional punch. If your young reader is reading these novels, I especially recommend that you read these novels as well, so you can discuss the social issues explored with your young reader.

Where does Allegiant rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Okay, now I realize that in every book there is a pivotal moment but I really wish that it was not THIS! I was completely heartbroken to hear that what I longed for would never happen. I was first deeply disturbed that the male voice and perspective was brought in (especially when Aaron Stanford portrayed a woman) but after a few chapters I grew to appreciate Tobias's perspective and his input to the story. The previous books were fully of action and romance while this book was more about each independent character and I feel that this was leading up to the conclusion. There were many important aspects revealed but none as impactful as the first two books. After I listened to the last word of the book I am longing for more, but as we all know there is no book like Divergent and the short stories are nothing close to satisfying.Left me empty!

The use of two narrators was different than the previous books. It's interesting to see Tobias/Four's point of view.
Both Emma and Aaron did a great job with narration.
Decent ending to the series except for one thing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I believe the entire book had great character development. Getting to hear from both Tris and Tobious let me to understand them better, bringing the ending into something that felt complete and right.Any additional comments?
Yes, the book may be different from the others, but that is because Tris has changed so much thought the first two books. I think this is phenomenal book and I applaud Roth for her bravery to take her characters to a whole new level.Shocking, Brave and Strong

Would you listen to Allegiant again? Why?
I would, so that I can pick up on any details I may have missed. Or if I ever feel like revisiting the story, I would listen through all three, for the sake of completing the storyline. What did you like best about this story?
The back story explanation of the factions, the projected future of the city, and a glimpse at how the healing has progressed. It would have been a much poorer ending without the epilogue.Which character – as performed by Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford – was your favorite?
Both Triss and Tobias. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Christina (or Cara?) confronting Tobias at his home.Any additional comments?
I would have been much happier if there had been a miraculous recovery. As with Rowling and Martin, no one is safe!
