A group of vampirical frenemies come face to face with their immortality in this off-the-beaten-timeline short story from Olivie Blake, New York Times bestselling author of The Atlas Six.

What do you get when you throw together a PTA president, a dissipated rake, a poor little match-girl, a colonial nun, and an elderly revolutionary? No, it’s not the start of a joke; it’s the cast of undead characters sharing a Victorian mansion in Santa Monica, California. The motley housemates can usually keep the bickering to a minimum—but when their clashing personalities get stuck in a rut, they suffer what could be a terminal case of déjà vu.

Olivie Blake’s All Manner of Thing Shall Be is part of The Time Traveler’s Passport, an unforgettable collection of stories about memory, identity, and choice curated by New York Times bestselling anthologist John Joseph Adams. Watch time fly as you read or listen to each short story in a single sitting.

I bought the whole Time Travelers Passport Series. I enjoyed them all, but this was my least favorite. The story was enjoyable enough. The biggest problem was that for a short story, just over an hour long, it has a lot of characters and they all get introduced very fast, and this made it a little hard to follow and try to remember who was who and keep track of what was going on.

Entertaining, but complicated.

I love time travel stories but do not read horror, demon, vampire stuff, and even though this was humorous I quit it

I got lost after the introduction of a variety of undead creatures who are time-traveling roomies.

Lost in the jumble of time traveling undead

A bit of a meta short describing a bunch of eccentric demon-shifting vampires who live together in a house on a hill with a pink time-traveling double-decker bus parked outside. Super sassy with some nice jabs at modern times, the prose in this one genius.

Time loop!
