Publisher's Summary

Meredith Hunt is content with her solo life. She owns and runs a successful Pilates studio, volunteers at the high school every week, and recently bought a house. She can take care of herself, which is good because she has a hard time relying on other people. When she's mugged and a handsome man comes to her rescue, she doesn't know how to accept his help - or how to stop staring into his chocolate-brown eyes.

Ace Vance moved to Bridgeport to offer his 15-year-old son, Finn, a better life. Here, Finn has a chance to play football for a good team and maybe even earn a college scholarship. And Ace scored a job at a top-notch garage, where he gets to fix up classic cars. Plus, they could both use some distance from Finn's toxic mom. The last thing on his mind is falling in love, but he can't help offering assistance to a gorgeous redhead in need.

Thrown together by a careless criminal, Meredith and Ace can't deny their attraction. But can they open their hearts - and their lives - to make room for love?

Shelley Shepard Gray's Bridgeport Social Club series explores how communities can come together to support each other, whether it's around a poker table, in a Pilates studio, or anywhere in between. Get ready to fall in love with a group of men and women who, even when they feel lost, refuse to lose hope.

not Christian fiction

Such a disappointment! this is not a Christian book! Doesn't display Biblical Christian values.

Disappointed x2

For Christian fiction this is some of the weakest. With a little more sexual content than I prefer, some tattoos, a little foul language, some justified gambling, and some mediocre characters, this entire series was disappointing. It's OK, but not worth purchasing, and not up to some of the other books I've read by this author.

Not bad, but cringy voice-overs

OK story, but the voice overs were quite forced and awkward to listen to.

unremarkable, stuffy gender roles

Men play poker, women bake and take exercise classes. Poker tips at the top of the chapter whether you care or not. Unremarkable, sexually active woman demonized.

Nice, but prefer her Texan series

This book was not as good as the Texan series. I prefer no swear words, so this is why I rated it lower than the other books of hers that I have read. I don't want to say more for fear of giving away the ending.

Very Nice!

I'm so glad I came across this clean, wholesome & easy read. Nice to listen to clean fiction. I'll continue this series.

Good storyline, except for sex and poker comparisons

I thought this was a Christian book. But it talks about having sex before marriage and I disagree with that as the Bible does. Other than that it would’ve been a good book but the parallels to Pilates and poker also attracted.

Loved it!

Easy listening, romance, friendships, small town values. I have a highly stressful job and enjoy relaxing “feel good” books. I look forward to more books from this author.

Not All In

There are some discrepancies throughout- for example, did the dog have 5 or 6 puppies? Was the thief a big guy or a smaller teen? How often do the guys play poker? However, the biggest issue was- when has living together ever been considered “all in”? The next book in series muddies the waters more regarding the character of these two leads. Fiction writing is just that- fiction.. and, certainly the author gets to write her book’s characters as she sees fit. Yet the inconsistencies make this series frustrating.

Brilliant series's

I loved the Bridgeport Social Club series, I just happened to stumble across these book's one day while looking for something to listen to. I couldn't be more plsd that I did, from Take a chance through to the 3rd & final book Hold on Tight, I loved all 3 books & I can't recommend them for a nice romantic read, it was lovely that all the women in the series became friends thru their guys already being friend's, great stories,

Disappointed

Nice enough story just not a Christian Romance that was promised, no marriage at the end.
