The narration was as good as it gets.

Can't say enough about the reading of this book and plot is really good. But I didn't enjoy the unrealistic view from the hero on killing and the fear of guns. It reminds me of the views of Marty Preston in the Shiloh books. It just goes against the experiences of my life and my world view.

I loved every single part! :]

Almost a classic.

Fits between Charlotte's Web and Watership Down. Cute real-world connections - eagles, astronauts, evil land developers. Lot's of hat-tipping to ecology. Leaves the impression that farming has a lot to do with critters wanting help us if we but give them a chance. Leaves us pondering about what will happen next year when the vegetable plot does not equal the first year of production. I liked the dog.

A Winner

My 8 year old boy and 5 year old girl LOVED this book and so did I. When I asked my children what I should tell parents about whether they should purchase this book or not, they both said, "Just buy it!". They both want me now to purchase the physical copy so they can read it over and over. It really is THAT good. I'm glad we purchased the audible version. The narrator's performance really added a depth to this story I don't think I could've provided on my own, and I love to read aloud.
