Two works by the Roman historian, Tacitus. Agricola is a portrait of Julius Agricola, a governor of Roman Britain, and the first surviving account of the geography, climate, and peoples of Britain. The German tribes of Northern Europe are discussed in Germania.

This is an incredible early resource on the Germanic tribes, however the narration was difficult for American English ears to understand--the reader has a strong British accent. Also, the editing was poor. Well worth finding another edition and possibly a map.

I listened to the whole book, rather than return it, so that I could leave this warning for other customers. This is the worst voice actor in human history. There are at least. Half dozen outtakes left in (where she makes an error, and backtracks her reading, without taking out the outtake in the editing process), and her weird, UK accent is very difficult to parse. She turns words like "heedless" into "headless," and positively butchers words like "equestrian."

This recording should be taken down and replaced with something competently recorded and edited. It's shameful work.
