Exceptional!!

Tim Gerard Reynolds again at his best! Capturing my imagination from the beginning with his narration from the Riyria Chronicles. Micheal J. Sullivan is by far my favorite author! I can't wait to see his next series whether its set in the Empire/Riyria or not. You'll have my money Audible!

An Epic in Its Truest Form

Sullivan has made the world a better place. I am grateful for his sharing his imagination with me and my daughter.

This final book of the Legends of the First Empire has me laughing, crying, fuming, and nodding my head in agreement. Throughout this book, the series, and the connected Riyrian novels, Sullivan has expertly delved into politics, diversity, equity, religion, and international affairs to name just a few. There is romance and death, magical beasts and sorcery, inner conflict and relationship building. I do not want to leave the community he has created; it is much preferred to the reality out there right now.

It is so important to me that people read this book that I am writing my first review ever - after 11 years of listening and over 500 titles in my library. And I do not typically listen to books twice, either. In finishing this book, I will be re-starting the Riyria Revelations.

And Tim Gerard Reynolds is one of two favorite narrators (and I've listened to over 500 books, so I know narrators!). He shifts easily from character to character, each with their own complex emotional tones. Reynolds has joined me on more walks than he could manage! No-one else could take Sullivan's mind and relay it to mine so seamlessly.

Love, love, love this series.

Do yourself a favor and read anything Michael J Sullivan writes. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing

This was just an amazing ending to a brilliant story. I'm always worried about the final books in a series but I honestly dont think this could have been better, 10 out of 10, five stars. Just amazing.

The end

I have never liked books at the end of series, but this book changed that.

Great story

A grand finish, very satisfying. Characters were deeply developed, Interactions were very believable even though a fantasy novel. I look forward to whatever comes next.

Enjoyed every minute

While I will say the second half of the series lacked what I felt made the first half so great in some ways. It shines in many ways that’s the first did not. I appreciate the hard work put in to make this all come together when we have writers who are still stuck writing books after decades. Thanks Micheal for finishing and doing such a great job.

INCREDIBLE AND SATISFYING ENDING

Ahhh… it was such a good ending that I’m actually not as sad as I thought I would be to finish the series! It was such an incredible woven ending.

One of the things I like the most about these books is the lore isn’t dumped out in huge spots. But when the background/lore/data is woven through the story, it’s so interesting and you WANT to hear it! Unlike other books I’ve listened to and read.

This was a great series , But..

I've laughed and I've cried as I followed our heroes in this wonderful series. Although I enjoyed the 2 books dedicated to our heroes journey through the underworld, I think it could have been condensed into 1 book and gave more time to give a proper ending to our beloved characters and their stories. The ending was a complete letdown, a huge disappointment for such a wonderful series. Our heroes did not get a good fleshed out end to their stories. I did enjoy the mention of Royces future, as bleak as it was. I also enjoyed that it did confirm that Malcom is indeed a character that we know from the Riyria stories and gave us the truth to his background. As always Tim Gerald Reynolds did an amazing job bringing our heroes to life with his narration. After such a disappointing ending I think I will leave the world of Elan for a while before reading the next series, maybe wait till the Ezrahaddon book is released then come back and visit Elan again.
