Publisher's Summary

Deadly monsters live in all of us.

The Academy of Six has just never seen a monster as terribly mundane as Izara Castillo. And that is a dangerous problem. She has four semesters to not only understand her supernatural abilities, but harness them as well. Everything at the Academy is a disaster, from inter-dimensional travels through hell to the other hell they like to call "Gym".

Bullies push her, test her, and simply try to kill her. A few broodingly protective roommates and a scary, fake boyfriend could help. Or make her life impossibly harder. Pretend to date the emotionally detached demon, they said. What’s the worst that could happen, they said.

It’s make or break within this prison of a school. If she succeeds, she’ll finally know what she’s capable of, who she truly is, and where she came from. If she fails...she dies.

This is reverse harem series containing male/male themes. Recommended for listeners 18 and over.

Wow.. Buying the next in the series immediately!

Not your typical supernatural academy story. The basic premise is the same as many others, but it has such a unique spin to it that makes it highly entertaining. I was truly shocked how well it was done. Narration was good as well. Yaoi fans will find it a delight.

Sexy

Don’t read this in public. It is steamy, sexy, and might turn you on. The story is good but the characters are better. Jennifer absolutely rocks. Her array of accents is spot on.

👎

A cliffhanger really ? I am unsatisfied. Next book is shorter for same price. You seem To have cheating your fans down to familiar Pattern. Not Cool.

Not the book for me

I was really excited about this one, but it just wasn’t the book for me. It promised prison style academy, mysterious supernatural MC, and delicious supernatural guys but I felt like it just didn’t deliver. The story often bounced from scene to scene and I struggled with feeling like the story line, characters, and backstory were only partially developed which resulted in shallow character interactions and difficulty staying immersed in the story. I loved meeting all the guys and initially felt a pull, especially during the steamy scenes, but their effect didn’t last beyond those pages. I really enjoyed the intensity and action of the ending too, but it was just too little too late. I felt I was left with too many unanswered questions, poor connections to the characters, and little overall progression of the story. As for the narration, I didn’t feel it represented the story or characters well and I couldn’t finish it. I did transition to e-book and finished the story this way. The MC is a sassy 19 yr old, but the narrator had a throaty, slow, somewhat flat voice that sounded like a middle-aged adult. I didn’t feel like she was expressive enough, making emotions fall flat. I also found it difficult to distinguish between several of the male characters’ voices. Having this disconnect made it very difficult to stay engaged and listening unpleasant. Unfortunately, I won’t be continuing this series as it just isn’t for me.

Meh...

The narration was fine. Not good, not bad, just fine. The story was disjointed and random. So many situations seemed forced and contrived. There was no flow between plot twists. It was like the authors took turns writing chapters and completely disregarded what was in the previous chapter. I would not recommend this book. I want these hours of my life back, but alas time travel slides me.
