  • Summary

  • State of Florida vs. Krishna Maharaj is an investigative journey that spans 30 years in the American justice system, beginning when a British-Trinidadian businessman was arrested for a grisly double murder in 1980s Miami.

The story explores police corruption, judicial abuses of power and features a trail of international players that leads all the way to the doorstep of notorious drug trafficker, Pablo Escobar. Maharaj’s epic and ongoing struggle demonstrates how it takes just minutes to brand an innocent person as a murderer, but can take decades to right that injustice. This is a story that will make you question everything.

What a listen, wow!

I’ve been a huge true crime fan since Serial and this podcast was so good. The story hooked me and then the music and intensity of it all is so well done.

I can’t believe how Kris has been treated by our legal system. I mean I’m no expert, but I’m heartbroken that he is still in prison. I hope this gets the attention he deserves and it also makes me wonder how many other stories like this are out there. Please give me more of this and get the word out!

Incredible Story & Addicting Series

A friend recommended I check out this podcast for our long drive home during the holidays. I couldn't recommend it more as season 2's story of Krishna Maharaj is an incredible documentation of injustice that everyone needs to hear. The podcast did a great job of telling a complicated narrative over the course 6 episodes about a man who's been locked up for over 30 years for something that in my opinion he didn't do. Not only is the story of a man who got mixed up with the wrong people during a wild time in Miami's history crazy, but I came away educated on how terrible and honestly scary the appellate court process is in our country.

Overall I loved everything about this series and hope Krishna gets the justice he, his family, and those that have fought to tell his story deserve.

Incredible

Wow, can’t believe how intense this story is and how enthralled I was with this podcast. A story that everyone should listen to. Hoping for more seasons of Abuse of Power! Producers really outdid themselves with this one. Can’t wait to hear more of their work.

The best podcast out there

Sonya and David are amazing. They make you feel like you're an insider on the case. This is no normal true crime podcast, it feels more like an audio documentary. Everyone should listen!

scary

Hard to believe there could be that much of a breakdown in the system. Then again it would take a lot of Judges and prosecutors conspiring. The third would be the pad asters AR
are defe se attorneys and presented from that point of view.30 years is ao g time though.
