David's Flight From Saul As Lesson

I've long been a fan of Callie Beaulieu's narrating skills and definitely remain so after this reading.

Abigail is one of my absolute favorite women in the Bible. Her graceful wisdom shines in the short passages about her in the Bible. This book allows her to shine even more. Living with a physically, mentally and emotionally abusive husband is a horrifying existence. Her courage and honesty in spite of this is astounding but YAHUAH freed her from it giving her HIS beloved as a husband. I wonder about decisions David made. To be strictly honest I wouldn't have wanted him as a husband. I truly appreciate being the 1 wife of 1 loving man.

But what floored me about this book is how appropriate it is in a time when persecution of Believers is becoming more regularized in the USA. King Saul's chasing of David with armies of those that used to serve with David in the military, were his former friends, people he'd fought and bled beside, some who's lives he'd saved, makes me think of Matt10:21-23 then v34-42 and John16:1-4. Saul was David's father-in-law, someone David had put his life and those he served with on the line for over and over again. Jonathan was closer to him than a brother. Jonathan wouldn't help chase him, but he didn't stand up for David with the armies either. That is a future Tribulation that is very real for Believers as Scripture prophecies, yet for all the years I sat in church, I don't recall David's flight from Saul ever being used as an object lesson for Matt10....and it very much should be!! The way the women and children reacted, whether careful, thoughtful and quiet or sniping, spiteful, complaining and being manipulative with each other is something Believers need to really think about now, before such things begin. I think that's the best thing about this series.

Such a great story

I was drawn into Abigail’s story almost immediately. I also loved the Psalms woven throughout.

Really enjoyable story

Very enjoyable biblical story to fill in what the Bible does not tell us about the lives and times of being a wife of King David.

Wonderful Story

I love this story. I purchased this book years and years ago and compared to other authors who wrote about Abigail and King David this one beats them all. So much more detail and includes the full story from the very beginning through the time David was still in hiding from King Saul and the struggles they faced during that time as well as David's ascension to King. And Abigail's struggle with his multiple wives. Well done Jill Eileen Smith and thank you for finally getting this book out on Audio!!!

P.S. could have gotten a better narrator. She wasn't bad but she wasn't good either.

Even more amazing then Michal

I Loved it so much.. Amazing and more endearing then the first... Michal was amazing but Abigail was even more amazing.. it touched me deeply. and blessed my heart.

Interesting wife of King David

Abigail has always fascinated me. She was wise and courageous to appease David after her no good husband had antagonized him. Then she became his wife. This is a plausible portrayal of what her life might have been like, though it’s somewhat different from what I had imagined. This story is probably more realistic than my imagining.

Loved the Book!

I felt like I was there! You could feel the struggle with wanting to do the right thing and her rmotions getting in the way.

Brought out of Abuse to live in the king palace

Thank you my Elohim, just brought Abigail out I can see you can bring me out thank you jill Eileen Smith,showing women suffering Abuse that Jesus go to prepare a place the where he is we may be.in our pain this need to be known.

Most Delightful

When you read a book, you desire to be entertained but also enlightened and encouraged. This book does all three with great care and grace, teaching us that the lives of individuals within annals of Scripture are real, humble, flaud and victorious. Enjoy this book for all it's offering and goodness.

Naration

Good Story. Well written,but the narration spoiled it for me. Her inflections did not mirror the action or the dialogue.
