A masterpiece of suspense from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Child • Don’t miss the hit streaming series Reacher

“The truth about Reacher gets better and better.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times

Four people in a car, hoping to make Chicago by morning. One man driving, eyes on the road. Another man next to him, telling stories that don’t add up. A woman in the back, silent and worried. And next to her, a huge man with a broken nose, hitching a ride east to Virginia.

An hour behind them, a man lies stabbed to death in an old pumping station. He was seen going in with two others, but he never came out. He has been executed, the knife work professional, the killers vanished. Within minutes, the police are notified. Within hours, the FBI descends, laying claim to the victim without ever saying who he was or why he was there.

All Reacher wanted was a ride to Virginia. All he did was stick out his thumb. But he soon discovers he has hitched more than a ride. He has tied himself to a massive conspiracy that makes him a threat—to both sides at once.

In Lee Child’s white-hot thriller, nothing is what it seems, and nobody is telling the truth. As the tension rises, the twists come fast and furious, keeping readers guessing and gasping until the explosive finale.

What did you like best about this story?

The end, which was more exciting than the rest of the novel.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At times.

Any additional comments?

Want to know if, when, and how Reacher gets his nose fixed. Don't envy the narrator to sound like that throughout the story.

Enjoyed this. First Reacher novel for me.

First of all I am halfway through this book is not the worst Lee child Jack Reacher book first thing for the last three books adding this one there has been a love interest that's why he wants to get to Virginia also you need to understand Jack Reacher is around his 40s he's not Tom Cruise they have described him as a beat up gorilla in one line Jack Reacher literally says that's not fair for the gorilla this says that he is aware that he cannot get women like he used to and as far as the whole gotcha I figure it out Jack Reacher moment he's getting older before halfway through this book he figure out what's going on and trying to do something about it unlike other ones for example running blind where he had a hunch or a theory and because he couldn't act on it quick enough for people died so he is getting older and wiser and say waiting for the proof he's reacting and as far as not having all the action of him kicking ass and taking aims and killing everyone you have to remember he's 40 years old or older he should be in the hospital after his experience at the end of the book 61 hours if you're unaware of this go by the book and listen or read it he was completely injured in the previous book worth dying for again if you haven't read or listen to this book go to that you will have a better understanding of a man who is walking around injured older in a position where he's trying to save a persons life where the people are very aware they are the bad guys and once again just like other books they will get richer and thinks he's part of it instead of helping as of one person who wrote a review they said for 13 minutes you don't hear reacher at all he doesn't say anything that's BS he has several lines in chapter 2 this is not the worst book in the series in my opinion Echo burning was a so so book now if you're looking at this as a book lover and a storyteller lover I get your point because in classic storytelling with every book you elevate the hero to become more bad ass but if you will get this as a Navy brat army brat military I Orrview when you start as a badass and you get old there's only one way to go to either you become weak and live in the past or you buy your time and become wiser and use certain skills you learn and wait for your opportunity this is a good book in the series for people who understand and it shows that Jack Reacher himself is getting older has one abilities and is aware that he is not who he once was

90% of these people who are writing reviews are wrong

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As all Dick Hill narrated Reacher books, I would recommend this one. Dick Hill's Reacher is a great character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I couldn't turn it off, wore my headphones while shopping, driving and eating dinner.

Another Great Reacher

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I've read every lee child novel. I love the Character. It is obvious to me that there were one or more chapters omitted from this audio book. One of the pivotal events is missing, discussed after the fact but not seminal moment when it happened. it took me quite a while and several references during the plot line to determine what was missing and how that event fit into the plot.

Was A Wanted Man worth the listening time?

Fix the problem and it will be worth it.

This audio book appears to be missing chapter(s)
