Publisher's Summary

Stanford law graduate Kate Dawson is focused on the future laid out for her - partnership in her family's law firm and marriage. When she moves to a cabin in the Santa Cruz Mountains to study for the bar exam, crossing paths with her intriguing neighbor leads to a journey of sexual awakening and self-discovery that wasn't part of the plan.

Landscaper and handsome butch top Chris Brent has a well-deserved reputation as a considerate lover. Avoiding relationships with all their emotional messiness, she indulges in her favorite pastime at sex parties and with casual lovers. She enthusiastically agrees to initiate her cute neighbor to ways of sexual pleasure.

Sex was the deal. Falling in love ruins everything. Or does it?

Uhhh...

Honestly the worst narration I've ever heard. I cant say if I like the story because all I kept thinking about was the awful it sounded.

Narrator is terrible

Heather Miles did a terrible job at reading this book. She really ruined the story the inflection in her voice was totally off. Every sentence ends with her voice going up. Nobody talks like that and it was very irritating to listen to. I think the editing must be off too. I couldn't stand to listen to another book she reads unless she has improved.

One long run on sentence (Pacing and Phrasing)

I first purchased the ebook of this book and saw it released today as an audiobook and opted to listen to it. I am glad I have the ebook to read along with, that is the ONLY way I know when sentences, or thoughts or phrases end or begin. The narrator here seems as if she is in a race to get to the end of the book without breathing.

I had to stop listening because there is no pacing to the story based on how it's read here. The story seems as if it will be a good one, but the execution in audio form won't allow it to progress properly.

Hard to listen

I bought this book months ago and I'm forcing myself to finish it. It's hard to listen and follow the story line because the narrator did such a horrible job! Truly some of the worst narration I've ever heard. I must say, I am surprised this was approved to sell on Audible.

Hot, but not

This is one of a million cases in which the reader (this was neither performed nor narrated) ruins the book. This one seemed to have no understanding at all of the link between punctuation and voice modulation.
I got through the book because I liked the story But is would have been 5 stars with a better narrator.

Awful

I’m not even half way through this audible and there are so many issues! The narration ends with a question nearly every sentence. In the beginning of the book it was fine but during dialogue between characters it is atrocious and hard to focus on the story. You can’t really tell who is who everyone sounds the same. The connection between the two main MCs is underdeveloped first they meet, then they’re riding together spending time, watching movies. It never shows anything develop between them. I’m not sure if I’ll finish this book.

It is a good story

If you have the patience to stay with it and not through your device out the window because of the narration.
Sometimes I couldn’t decide if it was the writing of short staccato sentences or was it the strange narration. Heather Miles use a very good voice when she narrated CHris, but for the rest of the story she ended sentences when she felt like it, usually with raising her voice in a sort of a question. Better not change the voice for the narration and the characters than using this strange sound of short staccato parts of sentences that made it very difficult to follow the story line sometimes.

Annoying Narration, Really Good Story

I can usually play with the narration speeds to my satisfaction but there was no helping this one. Good thing the story more than made up for it. Still worth the listen.

Siri reads erotica?

Seriously, this was a terrible narrator. So robotic and every four words ended in a question. Not. Hot.

Awful narration

What would have made A Touch of Temptation better?

The narration was so bad I have abandoned listening all together, something I have only done once before. Very disappointing.

Has A Touch of Temptation put you off other books in this genre?

No

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrators cadence is so distracting it became annoying very quickly

Uncomfortable narration

What did you like best about A Touch of Temptation? What did you like least?

The book itself is OK, but the narration is uncomfortably sing-song. The narrator is the perfect example of voice modulation gone wrong, and it wasn't an enjoyable listen in any way!

Would you recommend A Touch of Temptation to your friends? Why or why not?

No! Narrator problem.

How could the performance have been better?

I can read - but I don't make any claim to being a good narrator, so how do these people make claim to their competence to do the job?

very poor narration spoiled this book

The story was ok but the narration was apalling! It really turned me off as her inappropriate inflection, mistimed pauses and attempts at different character voices was very distracting and at times laughable.
