Multi-platinum, Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, producer and actress Brandy Norwood is one of the most influential artists in pop history. Born into a musical family, the Mississippi-bred daughter of Willie and Sonja Norwood emerged as a teenage sensation in the ‘90s with her 3x-platinum self-titled debut album, a hit sitcom Moesha and as the star of Disney’s television adaptation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella alongside her idol Whitney Houston and a multi-cultural cast of icons that attracted over 60 million viewers. She has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and is ranked as one of the best-selling female artists in American music history by the RIAA, having sold more than 11 million albums in the United States. Her idiosyncratic voice and the innovative sounds she brought to music—particularly her 5x-platinum selling album Never Say Never (1998), Full Moon (2002), and Afrodisiac (2004)—has been a guiding inspiration for generations of artists across myriad genres.
Brandy has earned scores of awards, including a Grammy, an American Music Award, three NAACP Image Awards, three Billboard Awards, an MTV Movie Award, three Soul Train Awards, five Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, six BMI Awards, a Teen Choice Award and in 2018 she received the Cathy Hughes Award of Excellence at the Urban One Honors. While maintaining a recording career, Brandy continued to be a presence in television (The Game, Zoe Ever After, Star) and film (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Double Platinum, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor) and in 2015 made her Broadway debut in Chicago, one of the longest-running American musicals of all time. Brandy’s first studio album in eight years, b7, was released in 2020 to critical and fan acclaim and debuted at No. 1 on the Independent charts and her Verzuz celebration with collaborator Monica was one of the webcast’s most watched with a remarkable 5 billion impressions. Last fall, Brandy made a return to television with a starring role on ABC’s hip-hop musical drama Queens and is currently at work on her eighth album.

I’ve always loved Brandy but hearing her career and life account made me fall in love again. I am surprised some of her albums were not truly enjoyed by her as they all are dynamic- I could be bias as I love her voice.

I feel so honored hearing about her journey in life and the industry! Brandy gave us so much in one hour; i wanted more! I loved her transparency and honesty... Not to mention her vocals and how she changed her adlibs on those hit songs 😩 this was everything I needed plus more! I’m anxiously waiting on her Christmas album. Thank you B !!

Wow! Brandy was raw and authentic where it took me back to the 90s remembering when and where I was listening to Brandy’s songs. It’s saddening to see that Brandy did not get all the accolades that she deserves. Yes, she was our first Black Disney Princess in Cinderella starring the Great Whitney Houston. I am glad Brandy took time to create this audible book and shared some refreshing music as well.

Brandy, I may not know you personally, however, I do admire your strength and courage. Keep on keeping on my dear. You are deserving of your flowers Now.
