Alone and bereft, Louisa makes the fateful decision to follow her sister into the 17th century. But, the best laid plans often go awry and she finds herself on the wrong continent, and in the wrong year. Louisa must cross the Atlantic to get to Virginia, hoping that Valerie is still there in 1620, and face the uncertainty of her situation as she makes the dangerous journey to the New World.

Meanwhile, Valerie is facing troubles of her own. She must discover the truth about the men in her family in order to save her marriage and solve a possible murder.

Will the two sisters reunite, or will they pass like ships in the night, never knowing how close they had come to finding each other?

Having listened to the first book in the series I was anticipating the second. This one was just as entertaining. I’m a fan of the 17th century and of anything Irina Shapiro writes. Her stories are mesmerizing. I look forward to the next one in the series!

Always wonderful storytelling

Good story line but a bit of repetitive info in the beginning of this 2 book in the series. Feel like it could have been told in one book.

Good story.

I quite enjoyed this book. I liked the first and this one didn't disappoint, as some sequels can. It has good pace, good characters and you find yourself truely carry about them. The narration was clear,, easy to listen to and really got into her characters. Can't wait for the next one.

Fun!
