Publisher's summary

A standalone novel set in the world of St. Mary's

Includes the prequel, The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy

Two years ago, Reed Jackson betrayed Calliope Thorne and broke her heart. So she stole his most prized possession – a white Mustang – and drove it into the lake for revenge.

Now, Callie is stuck at a reform school while Reed is off at college, living his life without repercussions.

Until he comes back.

With him comes back all the feelings that Callie has been trying to bury: anger and heartbreak.

But most of all, desire.

At the sight of his beautiful but lying lips and his gunmetal gray eyes that still taunt and smolder when he looks at her.

Whatever, though. It’s not as if Callie is ever going to fall for her ex-boyfriend again. Or let him corner her in a bar one night and touch her, kiss her....

Neither is she going to kiss him back. Or worse, sleep with him.

Because that would make her naïve and foolish.

Oh, and also pregnant.

And there’s no way Callie is ever going to get pregnant at 18 and with Reed’s baby, no less. The guy she hates.

The guy who taught her all about heartbreak.

Who might look like a gorgeous hero but really is the villain of her story.

A sweet redemption arc

Although this is a standalone, I recommend listening to the series as well to get the background story.

I found this to be sweet, and light.

The narrators did an amazing job as well

A Great Redemption Story

A Gorgeous Villain was a really great story. After reading The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy, I didn’t have a lot of hope for Reed Jackson. He broke poor Calliope Thorne's heart. I really loved the way this author weaved his redemption story.
The duel narration in this audiobook was effortlessly done. I especially loved the female narrator. She effortlessly pulled off sounding just as innocent as a girl that age, in that situation would be. I highly recommend listening to this amazing story. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

Reed Roman Jackson… Swoon

A Gorgeous Villain by Saffron Kent is book 2 in the St. Mary’s Rebels Series. Although a series, I feel each book can be read as a standalone as they featured different couples. This book was Callie and Reed’s story. This story does feature accidental pregnancy.

This book was high angst. The story had depth and the characters had chemistry. Reed is the bad boy and rival to Callie’s brother. He’s arrogant and cruel at times but deep down his affections for Callie are deep.

I loved the evolution of Reed. He went from this callous alpha to a compassionate lover and caring father. He stood up for love.

Callie. Oh Callie!! Absolutely loved her. She fought to keep Reed and show him he deserves love. She was strong and compassionate.

Narration was fantastic! I love dual narration. Pacing and emotional depth of narrators helped bring this story to life.

5 stars!

Reed Roman & Callie Fae's Story

This is the first complete book I've read/listened to by Saffron A Kent. The first was the prequel THE WILD MUSTANG & THE DANCING FAIRY. It is included with this audiobook, which was a pleasant surprise. I didn't realize that this is the second book in a series, ST. MARY'S REBELS, until after listening to it. It's an excellent standalone within a series. I didn't feel lost or like I missed anything. The thing that bugged me most was there were so many names for the same person...Reed Jackson/Roman/Wild Mustang and Calliope (Callie)Thorne/Fae/Dancing Fairy. It all tied together, but was a lot.

I really disliked Reed at first. He had to grow on me and he did so by the end of the story. He was a troubled young man, and had much to overcome to redeem himself. His dad had my blood boiling and I loved his sister. Callie was a confused, heartbroken young woman. She has four older brothers who were raising her and I hope to read/listen to their stories! I was invested in Callie's friends as well. A heartbreaking story with a heartwarming HEA.

Stephanie Kay and Gideon Frost are excellent narrators with such emotional performances. This is long, but it rolled like a movie in my head. Perfect for a long trip!

“Vampire skin, and Wolf Eyes.”

It felt like a Wattpad story written by a 14 year old. I cannot fathom how many times vampire eyes and wolf skin was used to describe the MMC.

An angsty emotional read

I really enjoyed Callie and reeds story, Both characters are so different from each other but I think they fit just right. They carry strong emotions within them that makes their moments interesting to read about. I love saffrons writing style and world building. Her books always keep me wanting more. I did the audiobook and the narrators really brought these characters to life and made it a whole different experience

Great story

A Gorgeous Villain is the second book in the St. Mary’s Rebels series and the continuation of Callie and Reed’s story. I really enjoyed how attentive Reed was with Callie despite the distance he kept between them. Their love story was filled with angsty moments and lots of tension. I loved their ending, and can’t wait to read the other characters stories.

Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost did a really good job portraying these characters.

St Mary's Rebels

After listening to the prequel THE WILD MUSTANG & THE DANCING FAIRY I couldn't wait to listen to Reed's and Calliope's romance. The prequel is included in this audio. Calliope was so sweet and I loved her friendship with Reed's sister and the girls at St. Mary's. Calliope's brothers were so supportive to her, great storyline. I did find it odd using wolves, vampires and fairies in the book as character references as Reed had wolf eyes and Calliope a fairy when this book is not a fantasy book. I also found that it dragged a bit on as it could have wrapped up sooner as there wasn't much of a plot. The sweet epilogue made it memorable.

Stefanie Kay, Gideon Frost dual narration was well performed. I loved Stefanie's inflection and she played Calliope very well. Enjoyed both narrator's.

It all started with the Dancing Fairy 🧚‍♀️ and the Wild Mustang 🐎

I listened to the audio version of this book which was narrated excellently! The narrators really embodied both of the characters. This does contain the prequel The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy. The prequel really explains how Callie and Reed meet, he breaks her heart, and what Callie does that brings her to St. Mary's reform school. Callie was a good girl from the beginning and throughout the book. I don't know what it is about these soccer bad boys? They bring the girls, especially good girls, to their knees! Reed tried to warn Callie away, but it didn't work. They are very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet, star-crossed lovers, whose families are enemies. Callie is determined to change the story for them. Well, until Reed shows back up at St. Mary's, and she gets pregnant. Callie understood Reed all along even though he kept almost everything a secret. Callie was determined to prove to Reed that he deserved love and that he did love people in return. It amazes me how the girls from both books are in high school but so much more mature and wise than the men they are attracted to that are older than both of these girls. I guess the boys had to grow up first. I also think both boys were used to everything coming easily to them without having to work for it. Reed does show he cares about Callie, he's just slow to see it. He's a very good daddy. Man, does Reed a dirty mouth! Hot, but oh so dirty in the bedroom. The book itself is around 550 pages including the prequel. The audiobook is around 20 hours played at normal speed. This story didn't feel that long to me. Saffron Kent has a style of writing that is all her own. Each of these books just gets better and better.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and voluntarily left this review.

A Gorgeous Villian

Okay I gotta admit this was a really good story. I fell in love with all the characters. I don't think I hated one. Oh no wait yes his dad, boy could I not stand his dad. He was a very mean and bad man. He was such an a hole 🕳 I'm glad he finally stood up to his dad though and got his happy ending. I'm glad he finally can to his senses about his love for fae. All in all you guys are going to love this book. I also want to say that these two narrator's did an amazing job too especially Stefanie Kay, she played that role so well. Good job girl. .

Wonderful Coming of age book

A Gorgeous Villain by SaffronA. Kent

Narration by Stephanie Kay and Gideon Frost

Having a follow up with Callie and Reed was exactly what I was wanting after that ending in The Wild Mustang and The Dancing Fiery. I thought wow it’s going to be great to hear what is happening wit happening with everyone now and I was anxious to see where Saffron would lead us. It’s two years later in this book. Wow so much happened but we’re brought up to speed.

Callie is living in a reform school due to her actions and she sneaks out regularly to maintain her dancing dreams. But who does she run into while she sneaking out but the one person who landed her in her current situation.

This was an emotional book but oh so worth the HEA. I honestly didn’t know how Saffron was going to tell this story when I started this second book.

Reed is there watching over Callie and seemingly cares what she is going through. Callie thank her sweet sole still dreams and practices her ballet. Boy there is so many emotions in this story. Saffron does an amazing job of pulling us into the story and we get to see why Reed is the way he is. Callie sees he is trying and she still has feelings for him even after everything that has happened.

I loved this coming of age story and how much detail was given to building the story. The prequel is included here but I had heard it before so anyone who hasn’t is in luck because it’s included.

Stephanie Kay did all of the characters in the prequel here in Gorgeous Villain. Here in this audiobook she is Callie the young women who rightfully goes through a gamut of emotions and Stephanie does an awesome job with her. Gideon Frost was amazing, he shows us all of the emotions Reed carried throughout his life and shows us he has a caring side as well. You will love this new adult romance that is beautifully written to be realistic.

So good

I’m not an emotional person and I don’t really cry at books but omg this nearly made me cry. I had a lump in my throat at the end of chapter 27 and it’s stayed there until almost the end when Roman has the talk with Callie ❤️

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Heartfelt!

Callie and Reed’s story continues in the amazing sequel to “The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy”, Callie and Reed’s story continues in the amazing sequel to “The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy”, Reed’s behavior and what he did at the end of that book did not please me at all but Callie’s actions and the way she expressed her hurt and anger did, it was an impressive stunt and retaliation. This book picks up two years after that event and we learn what her retaliation cost her and that she was not the only one who paid a price. After they charged Callie with a crime, she was forced out of her school and her beloved ballet program, despite the reduced charges, they sentenced her to live at St. Mary’s, a Reform School. She punished herself by giving up some things she loved, but the one thing she stuck with was her dancing and her dreams of attending Juilliard sneaking out at night to practice in the studio of her former school. One night, she sensed that someone was watching her and her mind played tricks on her because she thought it was him. It turns out it was, and he shows up while she was out with her friends from school. She was still angry with him for what he did and tried to push him away, but he was not going anywhere while she continued to put herself in danger and come up with a solution to help her reach her goals. This is a fantastic new adult romance, the story is cleverly plotted and the dialogue between he characters is absolutely brilliant. This book tugs at your heartstrings, my heart went out to Callie at first, but it quickly started going out to Reed too, his backstory is heartbreaking and explains why he is the way he is. I loved how everything played out in this book, there is plenty of drama, angst, twist and turns, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance. Saffron A. Kent, thank you for this amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Saffron A Kent cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Stefanie Kay did an exceptional job performing the roles for all the characters in the prequel, doing an excellent job covering both the male and female roles, giving each their own distinct voice. Her Callie was spot on, capturing her youthfulness and naivety and her strength and determination. Gideon Frost joins her in this sequel as the hero and played Reed’s role perfectly. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters’ emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

A Gorgeous Villain

Wow! I have no words. I didn't know how much I needed to listen to this book. This is definitely going be moved into the top books of this year, and stay permanently. Callie (Fae) and Reed (Roman) story started in The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy. This was a brand new author to me. These characters grabbed a hold of me and did not let go. I was completely enamored with this story. I will definitely be checking out more books from Saffron A Kent. Eventhough these books are part of a series you can enjoy them separately. Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost were both absolutely phenomenal narrating this book!

Absolutely heartfelt

Oh this is a beautiful, beautiful storyline. I love how the characters grow over the book. It starts off with school bully to lovers and then as the years go on how the characters mature and grow within themselves is brilliant to witness. A fantastic performance from both narrators.

Heartfelt and fabulous!

After listening to The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy , I knew this listen was in my future. The story of Reed and Callie was far from over. And now it's two years later. Callie is in a reform school and who shows up when she is sneaking out? No other but the man who broke her heart. But why is he back? He obviously doesn't love her, and she can't take another chance with her fragile heart. Secrets revealed, sacrifices made, this listen was one I could not stop. Saffron A Kent steals my heart with this new adult romance. Can you fall in love at 16? Can you forgive and move on? Will your family accept it? Can you see the truth through the lies? It's masterfully written, has you rooting for them and gives you faith that love will prevail. It's a must listen! And if you don't have the prequel, you are in luck because it is included in this listen!!!

Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost are fantastic. Kay steps up as Callie, and she gives every emotional tug you can possibly feel in her performance. Callie goes through a lot from young adult to grown woman, and it's an impeccable performance. Gideon Frost as Reed, what can I say? This is a troubled man, and he gives Gideon all the feels. From guilt to love, we know Reed through inflections and nuances. This is a fabulous team and a listen you can't miss!

OH THE FEELS......

This was my first Saffron A. Kent book (well aside from the prequel, The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy, which was also included in the audio version of this book), and I fell in love and was hooked from beginning to end. It was angsty and heartbreaking and emotional, but full of ALL THE FEELS and so much love.

Callie and Reed's relationship is complicated at best. There aren't rainbows, hearts and flowers, but beneath the angst and the tension, it was so easy to feel the love and see Reed, truly see Reed and his heart even when he tried to hide it. His protectiveness of his Fae was truly something, and while he couldn't outright give his heart, he gave just about everything else until he could fully be all in.

I highly enjoyed the different aspects of this story. It had a remarkable love story, but I also loved the story with Callie and her brothers and I enjoyed the friendships Callie made along the way, and I definitely think Pete needs mentioning because his relationship with Reed was truly special.

I highly enjoyed this author's writing style and Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost did a phenomenal job bringing out all of the emotions of this story. Stephanie Kay was brilliant as Callie in her narration. I feel as though I felt everything as I was listening to this story. She did that good of a job. I would love to listen to more of her work, but I would definitely recommend both narrators. I cannot wait to dive in to more of this author's work in the future. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

Reed!!

Calliope Thorne is going to Saint Mary's. It's clear that something happened between the ending of The Wild Mustang and The Dancing Fairy and the beginning of this book which of course piqued my interest.

Reed Jackson is not what he used to be, yet he's exactly the same. However, his life is very different and Callie is confused by that.

It's surprising the way things play out. I was confused about a few things during this book, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I don't want to give any spoilers, but things didn't make sense at some points. I get it but it was kind of odd.

I really loved Callie and Reed in The Wild Mustang and The Dancing Fairy but this book wasn't as good as I was expecting from reading the prequel. However it was good nonetheless, just not great. I did however liked seeing Reed and all his broody glory. He was so different than I thought, yet exactly what I wanted. I loved watching him grow and change, but still be his same self at the same time if that makes sense.

Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost were AMAZING!!
