Bestselling author Debbie Macomber brings us the story of several different women brought together by one knitting shop

Lydia Hoffman owns ‘A Good Yarn,’ the shop on Blossom Street, which has been in operation for more than a year and is thriving. Lydia’s relationship with Brad continues and she remains cancer free.

Jacqueline, Carol and Alix all continue to knit. But Margaret seems on edge lately and isn’t telling Lydia what is wrong. Other women start to sign up for the new sock knitting class: Elise, a retired librarian who is currently living with her daughter; Bethann Hamlin who is going through an ugly divorce and needs some distraction; and Courtney Pulanski, 16 years old and living with her widowed grandmother while her father’s job transfer to South America takes effect.

Brought together by an age-old craft, these women make unexpected discoveries about themselves and each other. The discoveries lead to love, to friendship and acceptance, to laughter and dreams.

It was a little confusing at first, figuring out all the characters and who belonged with who, but the narrator did such an exceptional job of voicing everyone in such a way, that soon I was able to know who was “talking” just by the way she was voicing them. Very impressive! I felt like I got to know and appreciate all of them and their story lines, which all tied together nicely and concluded in a very satisfactory way, it was an enjoyable listen to knit along to,

I really enjoyed this second installment in the Blossom Street series. The characters are pretty realistic and seem like old friends. I especially enjoyed the knitting tidbits.

Good, cozy story...

I originally looked into getting this reading because I love to knit and crochet, and love to knit socks. When the sample mentioned they were learning to knit socks using double pointed needles (DPNs), I was "hooked." The other reason I wanted to get this title is because I belong to knitting and crocheting groups at my church and library. It started off slow, but the story line picked up as more characters were introduced. I really liked listening to this as I was crocheting my cousin's blanket. The narrator's voice is very calming, but doesn't change too much to reflect the different characters. Other than that, I enjoyed it, and I think you will, also.
