The Narrator was just not a good fit

The story is amazing, but I can’t get past the bland reading by the narrator. His voice is missing any emotion, extremely monotone.. just not good for a novel like this full of sensuality and emotion. I will no longer buy audiobooks by this narrator.

Book is great narration is dull

The narrator would be great at a non fiction, autobiography, or history story. But for a steamy fantasy book, he’s just to “matter of fact”. The book itself is great, I love Hade’s side of the story more than Persephone’s.

Extra, But needed...

I'm normally weary of books that are alternate tellings of the original, but this was needed. It filled in holes and added to A Touch of Darkness. It may have been written third in the series, but you need to read it second. I love both books, but I'm in love with Hades persepctive. I need more!

Narration made me fall asleep

I loved the story but hated the narrator. He was so robotic and monotoned. Poor inflections. Sounded like he was reading a boring textbook.
They should’ve just have kept Meg Sylvan since we are used to her voice for Hades, and she’s an excellent narrator.

Phenomenal

I thought it was absolutely beautiful and a intriguing way of introducing greek mythology. I really was completely enraged through out the entire time. Keep it coming;!!! 💕

Stopped after 20 mins, Narration is awful

I'm so disappointed with this, the casting of narration is so wrong. It sounds like a recorded robot rather then an actor, and after about 20 mins it grated on my so much I stopped. I really enjoyed the narration of the 2 books from Persephone's view, and the narrator from those was fantastic at doing different voices to bring it to life. With this book, the Narrator doesn't even try. His voice is has a lot of bass and is gruffly which makes him sound old and stuffy. Completely wrong casting. Considering those listening to this have probably listened to the original, they could have got away with the female narration - she did well with the 'teaser' chapter of this, so dont see why she couldn't continue.

If you like the story, just read the book on this one. This is down right awful.
