I loved it!

I love stories set at Christmastime and I love everything I’ve read by Lane Hayes so it was no surprise that I loved this story.

Axel is a grumpy single dad whose backstory is kind of sad but he’s doing everything he can for his daughter. He’s a licensed veterinarian but he’s also a great ranch hand. He has no desire for a relationship with anyone but his daughter. Tanner is CEO of Oak Ridge, a working ranch, winery and luxury dude ranch. He broke up with his most recent boyfriend a year ago and isn’t really looking for a relationship. It’s a no-brainer that these two will end up together but they way they get there is a very sweet story with mild heat, cute animals and a sweet five-year-old.

For me, this was a perfect holiday story. It’s not long; just perfect for an evening’s listen with all of the holiday elements I enjoy: a small town, lots of decoration and wonderful characters. Lane Hayes indicated that there might be another book set in this world coming next holiday season and I’m looking forward to it.

A Perfect Blend of Cozy, Cute, and Steamy

This was hands-down one of the cutest, coziest, and sexiest holiday listens I’ve had in a long time. Free-roaming goats, a grumpy vet who wants to be left alone, a sweet ranch owner who refuses to be scared off, and the most adorable ballerina-obsessed five-year-old? Yes, please. Throw in a Christmas-obsessed small town, festive ranch holidays, and a few steamy barn hookups, and you’ve got pure holiday magic. And as always, Nick J. Russo absolutely crushed the narration—he’s a favorite for a reason. If you want cozy vibes with heat and heart, grab this one.
