A Suicide Attempt and Incarcerated in Hospital

I at first found the story unusual but interesting. The things that happen in the Pyc-ward are Very weird, but I still continued with the story. After 1 month in Pyc-ward she is released and goes back to her life, but Weird things still keep happening to her. By the time I made it to Chapter 6 the MC Valery is going on about a screen play she co- wrote and how she will be a Star. Also the Otherworld people stating how Holy she now is. At this point I had enough, story getting to damn Weird and nonsensical.

Unique story worth a listen

This was an interesting book. It took me awhile to get past the narrators speech cadence. She does a good job but I felt she had this intensity throughout the entire book rather than ebbs and flows based on what was happening. I also wish the book was a bit longer and the author took more time with the setup. It felt like the beginning was rushed and I would have liked to get to know Valerie a bit more before the suicide attempt.

Overall, a unique story with intriguing characters. Definitely worth a listen!

Really interesting story, sadly the narration is not great

A Broken World follows the story of a young girl that is struggling with her mental health, ends up in a psychiatric ward and is recruited to help the god Golletta in a different dimension - while continuing to live in her own dimension, too.

I enjoyed the story itself, but sadly the narration could be so much better. It is very rushed and does not reflect or paint any of the emotion or moods of the story at all. It’s a very generic “reading aloud” rather than telling the actual story. The pacing is so fast, rushed - barely any pauses - that combined with the generic reading-out-loud it sometimes becomes difficult to stay with the story.

Mental and spiritual warfare

Broken world is about schizophrenia but also has elements of spiritual warfare between good and evil. I must admit that after listening to it there were so many questions about mental disorders. I received this review copy audio book upon my request. I am leaving an honest review about this book of my own volition.

Thought-provoking

It was an interesting listen that will have you thinking about things for a while afterwards. I thought the author did a good job considering the type of book it is, but it was missing something for me as a listener. I wasn't drawn in as much as I would have liked and I'm not sure if it was the writing or the narration that was the cause.

The narrator did good, but I just don't think she was right for the story.

I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Wow just wow

This book was an eye opener. It shows the ins and out of schizophrenia, spiritual warfare, and the mental escape to another world. On top of that the god dilemma was interesting. A god needing someone’s help and not being able to have the power it’s self. The god falling asleep because no one believes. Is that really a real god? This book made me think on many issues. Very very very good!

Average and eye opening

I struggled to finish this book. I feel this is quite a hard subject to write about. In the end it turned out not so shabby after all.

I look forward to hearing more of your books
