Publisher's summary

Annie Kagan is not a medium or a psychic, she did not die and come back to life; in fact, when she was awakened by her deceased brother, she thought perhaps she had gone a little crazy.

In The Afterlife of Billy Fingers: How My Bad-Boy Brother Proved to Me There's Life After Death, Kagan shares the extraordinary story of her after death communications (ADC) with her brother Billy, who began speaking to her just weeks after his unexpected death.

One of the most detailed and profound ADC's ever recorded, Kagan's audiobook takes the listener beyond the near-death experience. Billy's vivid, real-time account of his ongoing journey through the mysteries of death will change the way you think about life, death, and your place in the Universe.

In his foreword, Dr. Raymond Moody, author of Life after Life, explains the phenomena of walkers between the worlds, known to us since ancient times, and says that Dr. Kagan's thought-provoking account is an excellent example.

Spiritual & Hip - goes past usual Astral & Cycles

For people who have already read books by Brian Weiss, Michael Newton, Robert Monroe, William Buhlman, Robert Bruce, Dolores Cannon, Eben Alexander, etc etc . . . all the various authors have managed to write about common areas and cycles and happenings beyond this physical Earth and existence or lifetime experience. They didn't write about these common areas intentionally, but readers who cover a broad swath of authors on these topics will start to notice the different authors describing the same places or procedures.

This book touches on some of the commonalities reported on by these authors and others. But what makes it different is an experience described that goes beyond the reincarnation cycle. It's an exhilarating description of experiencing what it's like to be a Universe, or beyond Space and Time, or in light or mental realms.

At the same time, "Billy" is very articulate when "he" returns to report back to his sister and help her accomplish his assignment to create this book. Billy uses complex vocabulary and historical references and sends his sister to look in iTunes for a certain song, or tells her to look up the meaning (via Google) of various names or words, and she finds another song on Youtube - so he appears to be very "connected" to information and communication abilities even from the "other side."

Billy also either manipulates or predicts syncronistic and very appropriate symbolic events.

The story is enjoyable, has a natural flow, and enough mystery to stay interesting from beginning to end. Fun listening if you are a person who likes to compare what people have found out so far about mystical topics that we aren't going to learn about from traditional academia or on the evening news.

A beautiful and mystical story yet down-to-earth because it is so human with our flaws and drama - it manages to be an *experience* in a few places that have fascinating information and descriptions of the "other side" of death for Billy.

It was the first time I read a description of what is past the reincarnation cycle. Very interesting book for the information-gatherer-type.

Great narration.

Reality? Hardly. Sprituality? Immature.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Probably nothing. As a preemptive strike it is good to start an unbelievable book by stating that it's going to sound unbelievable.

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen and David Colacci – was your favorite?

I didn't relate very well to any of the characters. Regarding the performance, neither was distracting in any way, which for me means that the performers did a great job.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Afterlife of Billy Fingers?

As a person in recovery, it was an amazing stretch for me to try and imagine a substance abuse counselor who is speaking with the relative of the recently deceased saying, "He just didn't trust his higher power. I was really disappointed in him." Nobody with any experience with a twelve step recovery program would speak that way in that kind of a situation. Once speaking from heaven, I was doing okay with the preliminaries but was thrown under the bus when the high level goddess got sexy and Billy thought she might be flirting with him. But the last straw is when Billy get's released from the cycle of rebirth. I need a little deeper explanation to swallow that one. I don't mind a spiritual world in which everyone goes to heaven, but to turn as basic a notion as karma into nothing of consequence undermines a lot this story's underpinnings. Of course, anything is possible and truth is stranger than fiction... in this case very much so.

A must buy

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was patiently waiting and waiting for this to come out and I am so glad it finally hit Audible. Its a fantastic story about a brother who talks to his sister to tell her about the afterlife and proving to her that we DO in fact go on after dieing. Ive read tons of books on this topic, and this is in my top 5. A true must read.

Any additional comments?

Spoke Directly To My Heart

Where does The Afterlife of Billy Fingers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right at the top. But then again, most books that I read come into my life at the exact moment I'm meant to hear/read them. So there are many ranked #1.

What does Susan Ericksen and David Colacci bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I prefer to listen to profound words, especially the first time I'm hearing them. Both Susan and David did a wonderful job speaking Annie's and Billy's words.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laughter. Tears. Peace. Gratitude. Joy.

Any additional comments?

Those who are meant to read this book will find it. For me, it was recommended by a friend I was visiting for the weekend. I downloaded it via Audible just before my drive home. I drove hours through a terrible snow storm and yet I was in heaven (pun intended) listening to this beautiful book. If you are ready to hear it - it will change your life. Truly. Thank you Annie for following your destiny and putting this into print!!

Not real to me

What would have made The Afterlife of Billy Fingers better?

I am an avid reader of NDEs and such spiritual events. I tried to listen to this but it never got better for me. It sounded like a poorly written novel and I had no stomach to listen to the end. I can't say what would have made this better for me.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Dying to Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing by Anita Moorjani

What didn’t you like about Susan Ericksen and David Colacci ’s performance?

It wasn't serious enough, maybe. It was more like listening to a YA novel.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Afterlife of Billy Fingers?

I can't honestly and fairly answer that. I feel like saying all of it...but that's not fair to the author and performers. Usually I relate to these subjects. This story doesn't feel real, which is what I'm interested in.

Very disappointing. Sounds made up!

What disappointed you about The Afterlife of Billy Fingers?

It's not believable at all. I thought it would have been a truthful account of his experience. Instead it is an account of his sisters experience going through her grieving process. It sounds like either she is hallucinating on a psychedelic drug or she is dreaming the whole thing up to ease her pain.

Would you ever listen to anything by Annie Kagan again?

No, lost her credibility.

I didn't care for this book

I am a huge fan of spiritual books, especially ones that deal with subjects such as this one, however, I just didn't buy a lot of what this author was saying. The messages in the book are good ones, but with all the amazing psychically sensitive people in the world, never have I heard one say, nor have a read a book, that claims a relative who crossed over actually spoke to them so clearly that they gave day to day experiences on the Otherside for such a long period of time. Sure, people write about communicating with those who have crossed over, but not as easily as listening to someone standing next to you speak. It made me wonder why she was so special that she was able to continue her relationship with her brother in a way that no one else can. I realize that some people are more sensitive than others, but I just don't believe her story. However, the book was not a total waste, as I said, there are very positive messages and metaphors - which you have probably seen all over Facebook by now.

Not easy to believe

Life after death is something I love to read about. This "true" story held me at the beginning, with emotion and interest, but started to lose me in the belief factor somewhere midstream. I really hope that this is indeed true and not someone's wild imagination. Seemed almost ridiculous that a family member from the afterlife could communicate so easily, as I have been longing for this to happen to me for years. Truth is in the eyes of the beholder - I guess.

Boring and self serving

What disappointed you about The Afterlife of Billy Fingers?

It is very dry and sounds like a story made up by a new fledgling writer.

What do you think your next listen will be?

N/A

How did the narrator detract from the book?

They didn't.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None

Any additional comments?

Bad waist of my credit.

Stuck it out, but not very original.

The guy gave me the creeps. Sister is a whiner. Dull stuff compared to the possibilities that are out there today.

Lovely content, performance not my cup of tea

Would you consider the audio edition of The Afterlife of Billy Fingers to be better than the print version?

Unfortunately no. I would have preferred to have read it myself. Much as I love audiobooks, I found the tone in which it was read, had the storyteller sounding exasperated, This in places could have been appropriate, although I took the content of the book (which corresponds to my beliefs anyway) to be of a peaceful nature, It did with no offence intended, slightly ruin the experience for me as, had I read it myself would have found it more soothing, sorry!

What did you like best about this story?

It is as I said how I feel about things anyway so I enjoyed the content as a whole

Would you be willing to try another one of Susan Ericksen and David Colacci ’s performances?

I wouldn't say a flat out no but I didn't enjoy it in this book

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No but it made me feel connected to the realm it describes whilst listening, even though I do anyway, but sometimes good to hear things out loud

Fine if You're After Fiction ...

What did you like best about The Afterlife of Billy Fingers? What did you like least?

There wasn't much I liked at all - I'm pretty well versed with books of a spiritual genre however this read as a total work of fiction - not at all what I was expecting - I felt like I was listening to a play. If you're after a bit of simple entertainment, it might be for you. If you're seeking something with a little substance, I wouldn't suggest this and I couldn't even be bothered to listen to the end. I'm about to return it.

A fantastic audio book!

I'd put off this audio book for so long because I was originally a cynic as to how authentic this encounter with Billy and his sister may have been. I have just finished listening to it and can now say I would 1000% recommend this book to everybody. The messages that Billy reveals to his sister confirms that our life on earth is simply a brilliant stepping stone to our magnificent journeys that lay beyond. What an inspiring and comforting book. It won't disappoint.

Valid but not true for all

Having had experience with spirit guides, I can see a lot of truth and a lot of validity in the writing on the work of Billy and the authorreaders need to be aware that Billys experience could be fundamentally different to many others. The reason is is that what they do is to depicked for you something that is much Like the experience One day I may write a book about these to Piction's and have a demonstrate lessons through them.
My parents are still alive, get one night I was taken to a place where my mother and father were living in the afterlife. When I asked my mother how this could be, she said we are not in time here I father said Ron homestretch now son. In the show me the garden, my brother and sister would've picked it is two trees I was depicted as a bunch of flowersI dived into those flowers to come back to you I was in this life

That day my father and I went to a sporting event as we caught the tram home through his hand on my knee and said we are onhome stretch now sonhad not told him about the experience. So it's different for different people at different times but a very good book
