Publisher's Summary

In Oceanport, New England's most gossipy small town, people wonder about Griff. Such a cute omega can't possibly be satisfied without a proper mate they say. Yet he'll be 30 soon and as far as they know he's never been with anyone! The truth is that Griff has given up on finding love...that is until his childhood best friend moves back to town and sets his heart on fire.

When Dean's firefighter career is sidetracked by a tragic accident, returning to his roots to mend seems like a good move. It gives him a chance to breathe, as well as a chance to reconnect with his oldest friend, the omega who stole his heart when they were young. For some reason though, Griff keeps shying away from him, and it takes Dean a lot of patience, and a ton of cupcakes, to lure the sugar-addict out of his shell - and into his arms.

But Dean's memories are still seared by the tragedy that sent him home and Griff is afraid of giving in to his omega instincts. Can they win through their personal walks of fire or is their flame bound to burn out?

Sweet, adorable, romantic! And puppies!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If they like ABO, mpreg, babies, puppies, and an adorable omega/alpha partnership, then yes, I totally would!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the narrator's voice for Griff. His mannerisms, his ramblings, the hope and fears in his voice were so easy to recognize, and it really brought that character to life.

What does John Solo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices of the characters! I LOVED Griff and how much emotion there was when he was speaking. He did a great job bringing life to the characters in this story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I listen to audiobooks in my car and I had to sit in my car to listen to the end of a chapter, I didn't want to get out!

Any additional comments?

I'm a big fan of this author and this series, and this is my first audiobook I have listened to in this series. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the third book to come out on audio because that's my favorite in the series!

Sweet & Sexy

A super sweet story that I thoroughly enjoyed. After listening to the first book, I was so glad to get Griff's story, he such a sweet character and so supportive of his brother, he deserves his own HEA. Dean is just perfect for him, he's very patient and understanding with Griff. They are great together and I really liked seeing their relationship develop. It's great that they were such good friends first. The narrator was very good with all of the voices but especially with Griff's voice, the tone and inflections are just how I would have imagined Griff.

Immature

This made the characters sound and feel like pre-teens. In fact, I have read YA books where the characters were more mature than all of the characters in this book.

Could have been better

The writing is very simple and overly detailed. It feels like the narrator is reading to a child, which I am not. The inner dialogue that the characters have almost every other line is extremely childish and normally just restates what was said in the previous lines.

A Baby for the Firefighter, Oceanport Omegas book

While I liked this book its not my favorite of the entire series. This book was a more on the sweet and sugary side than book one was. Absolutely no angst or drama in this book, just a really cute story overall.
And the award for the most Patient and Understanding Alpha goes to....
Dean, Alpha, firefighter, baker, Sweetest most understanding, patient guy on the planet. lol. Taking a break from his job, he comes back into town to help his cousin with his business after moving away when he was a teen where he ends up reconnecting with his teenage best friend Griff.
Griff, Omega, Photographer, Sugar obsessed, Virgin and Afraid of the attraction he still has to his teenage friend and crush Dean.
I was really happy with the way this book turned out. To see a couple, Dean and Griff turn from friends into more and have actual conversations about their feelings, and making sure they each both feel comfortable about where they are in life and where they are headed together was refreshing. There relationship together just had a natural progression to it and wasn't rushed at all. The way Dean took his time to make sure Griff was happy at all times was really sweet. Also, I really hate Griffs parents, they are horrible people and I wish they would have stayed out of the story, but I do see why the author added them in. I liked that we also got to see more of Griff's brother Eli (from book 1) and that we got to meet Shane and his kids, who we should be seeing in the next book 3 of this series.
Audio - John Solo is doing great with this series and I really hope the Author sticks with him for the rest. He really made sure that Griff and Dean both were unique characters with his narration and I really enjoyed listening to this book.

Loved these two

I'm so glad that Griff got his HEA. Even though his parents kind of came around, I still couldn't stand them, especially because they turned their back on Eli. Anyway, Dean & Griff made a sweet couple.

Sappy Sweet.

Warning listen to the audio first to see if you can stand the narrators tone. I did think about getting it for and hour and than I was happy I did. I got use to the narration and after awhile his performance didn’t bother me. This story is not as good as the first book and repeated a lot of information. I get it! Fireman scared to fight a fire because he got hurt once and failed at his job. And a Virgin scared of being aroused. That goes on forever. Then a couple of high jinks with the parents a pregnancy then happily ever after. Could of been done in 4 hours or less. 4 star review because they don’t have 3.5. But it was worth the credit.

Friends w/Intimacy Issues in Slow-Rolling Romance

No trigger warnings are noted in the audio opening or book blurb, so a caution that this story literally begins with a $€xual a$$ault. It's an MC's on-page recollection of a high school incident, and used to explain his hormone-fueled tendency to flee from alphas that subsequently affects his forming lasting relationships, but the incident itself is largely glossed over.

As for the story itself, it focuses on omega Griffin and alpha Dean, lifelong friends who become more after Dean moves back to town. Griff is hyper-focused on losing his virginity but has self-described "hangups," aka intimacy issues and fears (obviously!) he's struggled with for years. Firefighter Dean is also trying to heal from his own work-related trauma.

The progression of their relationship from friends to lovers moves at the slow end of a slow-burn, and Dean is ever-supportive and understanding of Griff's hesitancy. They move past it, of course, but it was all a bit too flowery and easily resolved for me.

Narrator John Solo delivers a good performance overall. Some of his female voices leave something to be desired, but there aren't many female characters in this story.

I haven't yet read/listened to Book 1, which focuses on Griff's brother Eli, and it felt like a disadvantage given the apparent continuing family drama storyline regarding the strained relationship with their parents.

Best Friends reconnected

Griff and Dean get the HEA and a baby. This is just another great addition to the Oceanport Omegas. John Solo is, as always, superb. I really loved these two and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

as good as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
