With a new job at a grocery store, Billy reconnects with his ex-girlfriend Ellen (Chlumsky), but generally it’s embarrassing to be back in town, seeing as he was the “star who was going places”, and now he’s seen as the “star who never went anywhere”. Looking for an opening to the end zone, Billy will tackle anything to make his dream come true. It’s a path that leads him to a billionaire tech bro starting a new professional football league that has more in common with professional wrestling, a health guru selling a cult-like fitness craze, and a hard-partying NFL quarterback who needs a real-life tackle dummy for his football video game. Will these lateral runs lead Billy to NFL stardom? A life of love with his ex? Or something totally unexpected from an elderly mentor named Mildred (Curtin) who he trains at the gym?

John Cena Shines in This!

This was incredible. My first time with Audible and such an experience! Stellar cast with wonderful performances! John Cena really shines in this such a great performance from beginning to end. I very much enjoyed. And huge props to Cena! Thanks!

Amazing!

This story is frickin amazing! Great lesson behind it and the voice acting is steller. Really hope this is coming back for another book. I need more!

Pretty funny

I enjoyed this audiobook. Yes it may not have been like a truly realistic thing that coulda happened but that’s what I enjoyed the most. The voice cast did a very great job and I could just imagine this happening on a screen. Funny crazy moments. If you have almost 6 hours to spare and want to laugh, listen to this. Hope it takes your mind off whatever it is going on and just allows you enjoy the moment and reminds you that no matter what happens, just keep moving forward. Gives some good life lessons I believe if you can look at it from that POV.

So much better than I could have ever guessed

I'm not a football fan. so when I heard audible was making a radio program about an ex-football player I wasn't certain I would like it. but every character in this show has so much heart and so much personality that it's impossible to not fall in love with the characters and their stories. John Cena is fantastic as Billy Logan. he brings so much personality to the roll. You genuinely want him to succeed. I really hope we get more shows like this from audible in the future.

Cute story

This was definitely a good listen. Very light weight and funny. Appropriate for all ages.
Good narration!

My First ever audio book

This was excellent from start to finish! Story was well written, properly dialogued, and phenomenal. I’ll be an audiobook guy for a long time now.

Entertaining

I am sure there are lots of people that loved this. I enjoyed it - but I wished that is was funnier. I kept hoping for some really big comedic moments. I don't know. I don't think its a waste of anyone's time. If you are a John Cena fan - then it's a must.

Performances were great. Storyline ok.

The performances were great, but the storyline dragged a little. It had a good ending, but in the middle it was less than funny and made me feel very sorry for him.

Surprisingly sweet

This was a fun little love story couched in testosterone. Cena brought a very unassuming and subtle performance. The entire cast was great - except Forte. Forte can't handle praise. Better to keep him humble.
