Fast-paced but needed more character developement

I am torn on this one. I thought the concept of the story was original, solid-paced and full of kick-ass teen girls, and I enjoyed the read…but I didn’t LOVE it and I so wanted to. I think what was lacking for me was the character development. In this story, I needed to care more about the characters in order for me to really care about what was happening to them and for this story it was crucial. The pacing overshadowed the character development and in the end it left me feeling meh about the book.

Great audio book!

The narrators did an awesome job reading this book! I am normally not into audio books, but a friend suggested this one. It was awesome! The story was amazing too! And a very interesting concept!

Interesting characters

I really enjoyed this book. It had interesting characters and the narration was excellent. Loved it!

Highly Recommend

This was a book club choice for our group of women...needless to say we loved it. Some read it while others listened to it. I was one who listened and enjoyed every minute. Actually listed to it twice and picked up on so much more the second time. Hands down we are all hope there will be a sequel or prequel to it. Throughly enjoyed it!

Ending fell very flat for me

I listened to this one. The narration was great. kept the suspense going strong, even if I didn't feel like there was anything suspenseful. I listened to this at 2xs the speed easily. I like the idea of the story, it I was so confused most of the time. I felt like the ending was complete, like I needed more to complete the story.

I loved this! It was read super well and the story is great. I hope there’s a sequel!

what happened to the end of this book??

this book really falls apart over time. but I enjoyed it at first, like lost.

Monotone narration

Basic plot that tries to engage and be exciting but comes off as predictable and the narrators are to monotone to add any type of spice to keep me engaged. I had 2 hours remaining to finish but I cannot endure listening to this audiobook. I’ll just google what happens in the end of this story.

If I were 12-14 I’d love this book

Wasn’t obsessed with the narration.
Listened to the book on a way higher reading speed just bc there wasn’t too much story to keep up with.
Kind of obvious plot.
I also never connected with any characters until the very end but even then I wasn’t interested. Maybe bc she only focused on 3 characters out of a whole entire island of characters, it was an ok listen but wouldn’t recommend.

Everything Hurts

the description did not do this story justice. body horror and conspiracy, more island of doctor moreau than lord of the flies. but absolutely gross and intense and so well done.
