Beyond the firewall lies a greater threat than Taimin and Selena could have foreseen.

Taimin and Selena have destroyed the firewall that once trapped them in their dangerous wasteland. But with their hard-fought freedom now comes a greater threat.

Outside the wasteland, under the same two scorching suns, live the bonded. This powerful ancient enemy will unleash a destructive war on the wasteland’s inhabitants, and Taimin knows it’s a fight they cannot win.

When Zorn comes under attack, Selena uses all her power as a mystic to protect the white city. Meanwhile Taimin’s path takes him to Agravida, the capital of the advanced bonded civilization - where he must work fast to find a weakness in a seemingly unbeatable enemy.

To save everyone in the wasteland from certain death, Taimin and Selena seek to contact their ancestors in the stars. But will they reach them in time, and will their help be enough to turn the tide? The existence of the world is in their hands…

If you like your sci fi with twists and struggle, a heaping dose of selflessness and heroic acts, and a bit of romance, this is for you. Fantastic world.

Excellent ending

I tend to like space sci-fi or at least sci-fi that leans more to the science end of the spectrum than this novel does. But the characters and character development of this series as well as the evolving plot captured me in spite of my early misgivings. There was little predictability in the plot twists and turns and while I’m very satisfied with the ending, I would have been pleased to learn what comes next in a fourth volume in the series.

Completely enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this trilogy. It is primarily geared for young adults. The main characters are well developed over the course of the three stories. The inclusion of the 5 races and how they come together is also well done. Amazing what fighting for your very existence will force you to do. The ending is a bit rushed but resolves all the outstanding threads very nicely. Overall a fun read and Simon Vance turns in another masterful performance. A little violent but otherwise appropriate for most audiences. Highly recommended.

This was one of my favorite series. I love that the story stays more focused on the two main characters. The ending was really surprising, which was awesome, because I didnt guess what would happen. I highly recommend it.

just finished listening to book three. this is a really nice story, the characters are consistent throughout and the setting is interesting. You can identify with the struggles of the key characters and in the end good wins out. I love the diverse cast of aliens beings and that the books are suitable for old and young readers alike.
