Reseñas editoriales

Environmentalist and writer Sandra Anderson presents this talk on the destruction of natural world and the spiritual implications at the Himalayan Institute's conference in Pennsylvania. Anderson makes the case that the world as we know is fast disappearing, but she presents this grace situation with humor, sincerity, and warmth. She incorporates input from global spiritual traditions, with a focus on her expertise, yoga. Anderson is intelligent and quirky with the voice of a skilled performer. Her realistic but hopeful lecture motivates listeners to be a part of the solution, starting right now.

Resumen del Editor

The spiritual traditions of the world describe paradise as both a state of mind and a harmonious garden of plenitude. Though we think of these stories as metaphors, our health and happiness and the health of the planet are not separate, unrelated states of being. Wisdom and grace lie within the sacred matrix of nature of which we are a part.

The world's spiritual traditions also describe a time of environmental destruction, social unrest, and moral bankruptcy. In this session, you'll learn what yoga says about divinity and the natural world.

More than 30 world-renowned speakers joined the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania for the Sacred Link Freedom from Fear conference. Topics ranging from personal growth to world affairs to sustainable ecology were presented and recorded live. This lecture is among those offered.

On the faculty of the Himalayan Institute, Sandra Anderson is contributing editor of Yoga + Joyful Living magazine and co-author of the award-winning book, Yoga Mastering the Basics. She worked throughout the American West as an environmental groundwater geologist.

Not what I was looking for

Would you try another book from Sandra Anderson and/or the narrator?

Sandra's beliefs are in great contrast to my own. She tells stories of Gods & Goddesses & how that relates to our world & the downward spiral of our environment & the world's bad choices. I'm aware of the environment's challenges but I don't live in fear & yoga helps me stay calmer through practice. I didn't listen to more than half, fyi. I had reached my daily requirement for eye rolling & deleted the file.

This is NOT a book

I’m unable to listen to this person ramble as if what she’s reading is an opinion. I really tried! No thank you
