Sweet small town, slow-burn romance!

I loved this story from start to finish. The Wrecked Series by Catherine Cowles has quickly become one of my absolute favorites when it comes to a good slow burn romance. Griffin has a very stand-offish gruff exterior but a literal heart of gold! He fighting hard for the top spot on my book boyfriends list!

Both Griffin and Caelyn both have heart-breaking stories when it comes to their families. Although they're both very different it allows them to understand what the other is going through when it comes to family, love and trust. I really enjoyed the family dynamic of Caelyn and her siblings. When you add Griffin to the mix, your heart will melt.

Seriously one of the sweetest romance stories I have read in a long time. I loved it so much that I jumped right into a re-read through Audible. Joe Arden and Ava Erickson are two of my favorites when it comes to narrators. The nailed the emotions and tone of this story perfectly. As always Catherine has a way of grabbing and keeping your attention from the very start. You won't want to put this one down. I am anxiously awaiting the next release in the Wrecked Series.

It Was Really Good!! 😊

This one was really good!! The only thing that was just a BIT too unbelievable for me was that, in the prologue, Will (Caelyn’s (the FMC) little brother) is supposed to just 10 years old & is somehow able to MOVE a dresser AND bed over a CARPETED floor to block the door in order to save his 2 sisters (& this is not much of a spoiler, don’t worry, since this happens in the prologue) . . . I’m sorry, but a 10 year-old little boy should NOT be able to do that on his own. I mean, I understand there is adrenaline & everything, but . . . C’mon!! 😕 Another that would have been nice to know is HOW OLD AVA (one of Caelyn’s little sisters) WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!! We knew how old Will & Mia (Caelyn’s other little sister) were, but NEVER Ava?! I mean, I’m guessing that she was around 10 or 11 since she’s obviously older than Mia & is still in elementary school, but still . . . It would be nice to know her exact age . . . It just annoyed me that we never knew her exact age when we knew the other’s ages . . . 😑 And, where was Caelyn’s cute, unique nickname that Griffin (the MMC) should have given her?! I’ve grown fond of all the cute nicknames for the female leads that this author comes up with! 😅 Oh, and also (for those interested in this 😉), there wasn’t very many “spicy” scenes in this romance, if you know what I mean . . . 😉 More sweet, s*xy scenes than “spicy” . . . Because of all this, I’m giving it 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, rather than 5, but like I said, it was really good & I am looking forward to the next one in the series!! 👍🏻😊 Oh, yeah, and now I wanna know if Will found HIS person, too . . . Maybe in college?? 😉 Because that kid is GOLD!! PURE GOLD!! 🤩 He SO deserves to find his person!!

This is a beautiful story of beautiful, damaged people. All the feels are here, from angst to passion. Even though this is the third book in a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Enjoy.

I loved this book so much. the narrators definitely brought this book to life. you could the range of emotions from the very beginning to the epilogue.

Emotional and Heartfelt!

atherine Cowles has written another amazing, heartfelt story! Wrecked Palace is book 3 in the Wrecked Series. This audiobook is narrated by Joe Arden and Ava Erickson. (one click narrators!) In this book, we finally get Caelyn's story, and it doesn't disappoint.

Caelyn became the legal guardian of her three younger siblings when she was just 21 years old. Her parents were wrapped up in drug dealing, and she was determined to keep her family together. Years passed and Caelyn's love for her siblings has made her an strong independent woman. Griffin suffered tragedy losing most of his family and has come to find solace on the island restoring an old farm house. Some unexpected twists bring them together and will leave your heart swooning.

Joe Arden and Ava Erickson's voices compliment each other so well as Griffin and Caelyn! Joe portrays Griffin as this strong, masculine man, with a tragic past. Ava's emotional performance of Caelyn went straight to my heart! Both narrators truly captured this beautiful and intense story!

Catherine Cowles has created a wonderful little world to get lost in, in the Wrecked Series! Each character's stories has left a lasting, memorable impression! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Wonderful! 5+⭐ - Love this Series

Catherine Cowles is an amazing author! I felt immersed in this book the minute I started listening. I was so drawn into this story and Caelyn and Griffin's life that I couldn't stop listening. The story was heartfelt, suspenseful and had all the feels. I found my heart so filled with love during this story, at times I had tears in my eyes and other times I was laughing at some of the funny scenes. I forgot that I was listening to a story and felt that I was part of this extended family and working with them through their past pains as they were creating a new family. I was sad when it ended and can't wait for the next story with this great group of friends. Joe Arden and Ava Erickson's voices were perfect for this story and even the kids voices were fantastic. Their narration just made the story! This is my favorite of the series so far, but I probably say that after each one! This is a must listen! #joeuary

I loved Caelyn and Griffin’s story

This audiobook brought the story to life in a way I never could have imagined. I felt all the emotions and teared up with Caelyn a few times. Ava Erickson and Joe Arden did a phenomenal job making me feel everything and with the kids’s voices.

This book captured me and immersed me in a world I didn’t want to leave. I felt so connected to so many pieces of this book I had to remind myself that I didn’t need to sneak around my house because my kids weren’t sleeping like Caelyn’s siblings in the book. I felt the pain of loss, fear, joy, carefree times all while reading which brought it all to life.and Growly Griffin oh man that guy I liked already because of his being in the right place at the right time in the other books but as Caelyn slowly wears him down and feels protective over Caelyn and the kids you just can’t help but fall for him. He is my favorite hero Catherine Cowles has written and I won’t give him up.

This series is a top recommendation!

The Wrecked Series by Catherine Cowles just keeps getting better! I listened to Wrecked Palace last spring and because I was on hiatus, never reviewed it, but I absolutely loved it. So before writing this review I listened again and loved it just as much. You don’t have to read the previous books in the series, but we do meet the characters in earlier books, so it would be a richer experience to read this fantastic series in order. The first book, Reckless Memories, is currently FREE on kindle as of this review, then comes Perfect Wreckage. (The first three audiobooks can be purchased with one credit as a bundle! )

Caelyn O’Connor was in college when she got the call that her druggie parents were missing and her younger siblings were home alone and in danger. Without hesitation, she left college to become their guardian. Six years later, she is barely making ends meet while she works at the sandwich counter of the General Store on Anchor Island.

Griffin is the tortured hero. He is a loner who lost his entire family when he was younger and was betrayed by people he trusted. He became major gossip fodder, which drove him even more into his grumpy self. The only time he leaves the family estate he is fixing up on Anchor Island is to go get a sandwich at the general store.

Griffin and Caelyn grow a slow friendship and build up trust with each other. He develops a friendship with her “kids” (the 3 younger siblings she cares for, who almost steal the story), and I have to say, my heart was just bleeding out. I LOVED these kids. I loved seeing their relationship with Griffin develop along with Caelyn’s.

There was some suspense in this story, and it was just the perfect amount to keep me listening through the night. I loved both characters, but the family dynamic is what really stood out to me. I love books with kids, and these kids totally stole my heart.

The Narration:
Joe Arden and Ava Erickson were just perfect in these roles. Catherine couldn’t have picked better narrators for this story. Even the kids' voices were flawless.

The Down & Dirty:
I loved everything about this book, BOTH times I listened. It was deeper and more emotional than I usually like to read, but there was enough fun, light, sweet moments that I never felt "wrecked" while reading. I absolutely fell in love with all the characters, especially the kids, and the suspense was just the cherry on top. If you haven't started this series, you NEED to, it's definitely an Ana's Attic top choice.

Great narration of a fantastic book

Catherine Cowles at her very best and perfectly narrated by Ava Erickson and Joe Arden. Griffin and Caelyn shine bright in this suspenseful romance about a broody hero who falls in love with the tender heart of a single woman who is raising her three siblings after their parents abandon them. There were plenty of times I got a bit teary while reading and always ended up with a big smile on my face as the youngest sister did something absolutely adorable. The pace of the character development was perfectly believable as was the slow romantic build up. Just when I forgot all about the bad guy and fully immersed myself in romance, BAM! The suspense makes another appearance. All in all, this book was an utter delight from the heartbreaking prologue to the sweet bonus scene. Great job, Catherine!
