5+⭐ Romantic Suspense!

Catherine Cowles does it again! Every book in this series is fantastic! This story has all the emotions and feels with Brody and Shay. They are both running from something in their past and it was great seeing them trust each other to begin and build their wonderful relationship together. I loved seeing the friends from the other books in this story. They always just make the family larger and it's one of the things I love most about Catherine's books. I loved Sebastian's and Ava's narration, as they are always great! Their voices were perfect for Shay and Brody and really made the story come to life. As with all Catherine's books, I wish the story didn't end! I totally loved this book and it is a must listen!

Shay and Brody all the feelz.

Shay is hiding on the island from her past and the new owner might threaten her hideaway. So she does all she can to make sure that she is invaluable to him. But she need not worry about that because Brody not only needs the hideaway himself but see the same fear in Shay.

Their chemistry is palpable, and they become fast friends that turns into more. They are there for each other.

I really enjoyed it. I will say this whole series being as its a small town makes me wonder how many bad guys are around. I know this one followed her there but it make you wonder. ;)

Just when I thought the last was my favorite I soon found out I was wrong, Shay and Brody stole my heart from the beginning,
Shay has been hiding from a trauma that still has her living in fear, working as a caretaker on the island of Harbor, Brody an artist who needs to get away from New York buys the island and becomes Shay’s new boss.
In Shay, Brody finds his new muse, in Brody, Shay finds her will to start living again.
This book has so much feelings, suspense, omg who’s doing what moments you have no power to stop reading and will just keep turning those pages until the very last page!

Amazing Story of Learning to Live Again!

Review: This is book 4 in The Wrecked Series. I have loved each book more and more in this series. Catherine is a master at hooking you right from the Prologue making it so you are dying for more. Shay has done her best to live off the grid on Harbor island. She loves her quiet life as the caretaker. Brody is an artist needing a change and to escape recent events in New York. He sets out for a change of scenery and lifestyle to see if he can get back what he once had. When the owners of Harbor island decide to sell it, Shay is worried she may lose her job and safe haven. When Brody shows up as the new owner, there is a pull that neither one understands. Shay has endured so much pain and heartache that my heart just broke for her. No one should have to endure what she did. Retreating from everyone in order to keep herself and those around her safe. With Brody and Shay both running and hiding from the demons of their past, whose demons will catch up to them first? This book was everything I dreamed of and more. The suspense that kept me guessing and being suspicious of everyone around them. Guessing right on some things and being completely wrong on others. I couldn't get enough of this book. The friendship that developed and evolved into more, the protectiveness of Brody and the other guys made my heart swoon. I absolutely love that we get to still see the other characters in this series so prevelently. The updates and warmth of this group have stolen my heart. I just can't get enough of them. I am so excited for Hunters book next! I listened to the audiobook for the 2nd half by Sebastian York and Ava Erickson. Ava is my favorite and I love Sebastian. They were perfect to bring Brody and Shay to life. Sebastian's deeper voice for our slightly older hero and Ava's sweet voice for our beloved heroine were absolutely perfect. Everyone needs to read this book and for sure this series!

A second chance and forgiveness

Holding on to the love of your life with a heavy burden on your shoulders. Time and second chances. Time and forgiveness. It's hard to say anything else without giving the book away. Always a great read.

Another amazing story from Catherine Cowles

Brody and Shay are so amazing. Sebastian York and Ava Erickson were the perfect choice to bring these two complex characters to life. They took this amazing book of two lost individuals and made them even better. This book will keep you guessing till the very end. A must listen!

Loved Shey and Brody

I couldn't stop listening and avoided people so I ccould listen straight through the audiobook. It started with a bang that had my jaw dropping and dying to know how everything fit together. This book was full full of twists and I had a hard time trying to fit all the puzzle pieces together.

Brody and Shay were both so good for each other and helped each other start living again. I loved reading about them starting to flourish and lean on each other. The evolution of their relationship from being strangers to being in love is such a great journey. They had to get through multiple obstacles but did it together and just showed how strong they both were. I loved getting more of everyone else we’ve already met on Anchor Island and has me wanting to never leave this world.

This audiobook is fabulous. Ava Erickson and Sebastain York killed it. It was cast perfectly for the story. This is an audiobook that I will be listening to again soon.

Another fantastic audiobook

This series just keeps getting better and better!! The narrators do a fantastic job and really make this book come to life.

Two tortured souls finding solace together!

Reckless Refuge is the 4th book in Catherine Cowles’ Wrecked series and this one deals with two tortured souls trying to find peace together.

Brody is an artist and moves to Anchor Island from New York. He ends up meeting Shay, who works as the caretaker of his new estate. Shay had a lot of trauma in her past and has isolated herself in the island for years, it really has become her private little haven and refuge. Shay’s younger brother was a psychopath and murdered their parents and attacked Shay when he was just 11 (and she was 13) after he found out he was going to be sent to a mental health facility. Now he’s been released and Shay has moved her life so far away from anything to do with him. Brody is also looking to seek refuge at his new island estate, a serial murderer in New York had been recreating crime scenes based on his artwork.

Shay and Brody both have so much going on in their lives with all of their trauma, they definitely bonded through that. Shay has physical scars from her altercation with her brother in the past and I liked seeing Brody have this protective energy towards her. This wasn’t my favorite couple or book in the series, but they were solid enough. I do wish some of these characters, and their stories, could get a break from all the bad things happening to them with the kidnapping and suspense always being thrown in at the end, but I guess it wouldn’t be a Cowles read without it. 😅

I really enjoyed this book awesome story I loved the characters i think this was my favorite out of the series it's a little darker then the others in my opinion but so good . the narrators did a great job
