has ring of authenticity

Another very good novel from D. Banner. He captures the alluring essence of the Texas farm hunk so well. He knows of what he speaks and that makes it a realistic mm romance. The other mc grated on me after a while with his continual whining about the past beyond what was artistically necessary. I wouldn’t minimize his experience—indeed I saw and endured similar myself but in a novel you can’t keep repeating the same subject. Nonetheless it’s a very enjoyable romance, lots of shouldering hotness and clever dialog.

So sweet

I loved this story. Chad was the best. Heads up though, this story features wrestling, like the sport. So if you have kids in the sport, don’t start this book on the day of their practice. 🥵😂 despite knowing what the ending would be, it felt rushed and sudden, a bit broken up compared to the rest of the book.

These two are really cute together.

High school bully and nerd. Coming together 10 yrs later. High school reunion. Chad just doesn’t know what to do. His feelings for Lance are coming to the surface at a full run. He just a lonely cowboy. Lance just a lonely fashion designer. Come together at the reunion. Lance goes back to his world and kind of falls apart. They have to work together to work it out. Good story.

Best one yet!

I loved the story. The erotica was hot but not too explicit. It's one of my favorites.

Surprisingly good!

I went into this book thinking one thing, then got a great surprise.. way better than I assumed it would be. I thought it was going to be a neutrally nice story.. just an overall good listen and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the story flowed. would recommend. :)

Another great road to travel in Spruce.

great series. very relatable as a gay man that grew up in the south.

Memories

I’m not sure what it was about this book, but it brought up a lot of issues for me from the time I was growing up. High school was kind of difficult for me. I certainly felt the connection to the main character and his need to make sure everyone knows how much they hurt him. All in all, this was a great read, and I highly recommend it.

Do yourself a favor and read the whole series

This writer is so good. I kept smiling throughout the book. The characters are great! Their characters are layered, but not perfect. The characters have their many sides, short comings, and lovability. This is the fourth book in this series. The series as a whole is really great. The first book and this one are my favorites, but again I love this series. I hope this author continues in this series, and other books!!!

What a sexy love story!

I have listened to all 4 Spruce books. As they are labeled 1-4, is how I would rate them! All great books overall. I really enjoyed the voices of the readers too.
