Decent Story, awful voice actors

Can’t stand the female actress She goes from 0 to 100 screeching. She ruined the book Lady of Darkness for me. Male actor sounds like he’s 60. Ewe. I won’t continue to read this series, just ‘meh’ story.

Love the different take on “Fae,” but wish it was duet

This was defiantly a read/listen that was worth the credit. I loved the magic system, and the different take on the fae. It reminds me of something, but I can’t place it lol I’ll def be reading the next one. One thing I wish tho is that the author would’ve given us more detail on how the ML looks. I know he has dark muffled hair (long? Maybe?) grey eyes, he’s tall af, lots of muscles, & he’s a shadow daddy with shadow wings. Other than that, I couldn’t really put a face to him the entire time. Also wish they would’ve done it duet style. Hate when the guy narrator voices the girls, & vice versa.. I had to keep thinking of other shadow daddy’s lol And I wish the mate bond was about 20% less of the story. I’m a big fan of slow SLOW burn, but the mating bond, & their attraction to each other got in the way of the story a few times. I have a feeling the next one will be better. I still have 2 hours left of the story, had to take a break and listen to something else. If you want a mini listen, & have extra credits, “Taken by the Dark Elf King” By Charlotte Swan is really good. The narration is chefs kiss.

Loved!

I loved the voices and I love how the book ended! Definitely a book I would recommend to everyone I know. Good job to the author and for choosing great voices!

Omg I couldn’t stop!

Worthy of Fate by A.N. Caudle is a literal fantasy masterpiece and the first book in the Realms in Peril series. The world building is done so beautifully and it is so easy to get wrapped up in this book. I read this book in 2 days because once I hit the 40% ish mark, I absolutely just could not put it down. I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next because it was that good.

There’s nothing I love more than a strong and stabby FMC and that is exactly what we get with Kya. When she sets her mind to something, nothing is going to hold her back. She is an absolute badass who knows her strength and will do whatever she must for those she loves. Having been marked to compete in the Trial, will she be found worthy? And if so, what does her future hold?

As far as our MMC goes, we cannot forget about Ryker who is definitely a strong and sexy shadow daddy. I mean, he can stalk me any damn day! But I also really enjoyed seeing his sweet side and how much he can care for those he loves. Will he be able to save his nation or will he give into his temptations? And if he cannot avoid his little gem, what will be their fate?

This book had me laughing, blushing, crying, and just experiencing an entire boatload of different emotions. It ends in a cliffhanger and that epilogue has me reeling to find out what the next book will bring us. But this book gets 5 stars from me and I will absolutely be thinking about it like it’s my new Roman Empire. I will be ordering a physical copy for my bookshelf.
