Different, yet good

The story line was extremely interesting;
Just forewarning—the main male character in annoying AF towards main female. But also has layers to him.
Hopefully book 2 will give more depth

I freaking love this book!

Book 1 of The Mortal Fates will always be a favorite book of mine. I absolutely love Rooke and her strength, fortitude, patience, and kindness. One of the best FMCs I've read about and the last several chapters are EPIC! The narrators did this book justice! Going in for round 2!

My second reading of the story via audiobook. The dual narration is EXCELLENT!! I love this story and the world building. The narrators did an amazing job.

I can't get enough

When this book was first released I read it in two days. then I started it all over again the same night. Now with the audio I can listen while on walks. it's so very good.

I absolutely LOVED all the voices in this book.

As someone who listens to so many audiobooks this one is 5 stars for the voice actors. This was so much fun to listen to, I will say it was a little slow at first but omg once you hit the 50% mark it just hits different. I really love is harsh enemies to lovers trope as well as the slow burn. I was on the edge of my seat the entire way, the only thing crossing my mind was “How were they going to end up together”. This was such an amazing and interesting listen as I love to know every detail of a book so I can imagine it more and put more detail into my thoughts as i listen. Another thing that I love a lot is that there were both male and female voices in the same chapter. In every book I have listened to it was been only female or only male in one chapter so hearing both male and female was so amazing!!! Definitely a 5 star read!!! If you like Fantasy with a little bit of romance in a book then this is for you!! I’m so excited for the second book to come out on here so I can listen to it immediately!!

intriguing book

this book was great! the beginning started out a little slow but once I got into the story, i couldn't stop listening. Rooke's fated mate is such a jerk. I want her to fight back at him so bad!! but her heart is just too nice/good. No spice in this book at All but still a great story. Fabulous Duet narration!

Wowwwwww!!!!

I put this off for so long and now I don’t even know why. I loved her broken bonds series but this far exceeds it. Absolutely listen to this audio book.

Another Brilliant Story By J Bree

I had mixed feelings about this book at the beginning because Rook’s POV was entrancing but Soren’s was filled with dense world building materials that focused on political structure. Since it was an audiobook and balanced with Rook’s magnificent story I pushed through and by chapter 6 I was hooked.
It had all the hallmarks of a classic J Bree tale with a strong and fierce FMC, tight knit friend group, and despicable villains. But the fantasy elements provided a backdrop for a visceral loathing in the enemies to lovers rejected mate trope that was powered by heinous prejudice with a very subtle but fascinating commentary on the subject.
In short, I loved this book and thought the narrators did an amazing job with the storytelling. I cannot wait to read the next book!!

(No spice yet, and very little romance, but lots of gory action.)

Is book #2 ever going to come out soon? This cliffhanger is almost unfair.

As always the narration for this was brilliant. I will never understand why more books are not diet narrated. Lauren and James knocked it out of the park.
