Most people think I’m a moron. In actuality, I’m a man with a plan.

It’s one of those three-year plans that takes longer than three years.

Still, I’ve been making it happen. Checking off those to-dos and turning them into to-dones.

Everything is almost lined up.

And then my phone rings.

By the time I get to Jess, she’s unconscious and bleeding.

My carefully crafted plan blows up in my face.

I tell the hospital we’re engaged. We aren’t, but apparently, in that place, you need a permission slip to see your most important, so I do what has to be done.

I toss together an epic apology salad for when she opens her eyes, and when she does…She asks me who I am.

I’m willing to overlook the insult since, you know, head injury, but then Nurszilla spills the beans on our pending nuptials.

And just like that, my friend turns into my fiancé, and I’m not even mad at it.

How could I be? Her curves fit in my arms perfectly. Kissing her is like whoa and makes me forget I’m living a lie.

I know I have to come clean, but someone dirtier than me is stalking my final girl, and until she remembers who, it’s on me to keep her safe.

The closer we get, the guiltier I feel.

When all this is over, will she forgive me? Or will everything I’ve done cost me everything I’ve always wanted?

WHOA is a college sports romance novel and can be listened to as a standalone.

Book 6 of the Westbrook Elite series definitely had a lot of intrigue and twists (some were very obvious which is why I gave the story a 4.5) but the author did a great job delivering this romance but also mystery.

We got to meet Jess briefly in one of the previous books, where we got to see Kruger defend her and try to protect her (she was a lifeguard and him a swimmer). They have been besties for a long time, and I am a huge sucker for friends to lovers. A lot of things have kept them apart, miscommunication being a huge one that Kruger has no clue about, but things are revealed and their true feelings come to light when Jess has a huge medical incident. Jess was in the wrong place at the wrong time, some baddies tried to take her out since she saw something she shouldn't. She has to handle having amnesia and Kruger and Elite have to help her out and try and be there for her without stressing her out and telling her everything.

I was happy to see how Kruger treated her, I was just annoyed he waited this long and this situation and tell her. I understood why he had to keep it a secret with her condition but like before that, so she would have a clue?!?! Hahaha, I don't blame Jess's reaction with this hit the fan, if you know what I mean! I felt for her, her inner conflicts, confusion, frustration and sadness. I thought the female narrator did a good job delivering the big rollercoaster of emotions throughout the audiobook. I thought the male narrator did ok, there were times I wasn't as huge of a fan. I think sometimes when he had to do the other characters it took me out of the story a bit. I would give the narration a 4-4.5, which is why I overall gave this a 4 stars instead of a 5 stars.

The big baddie was pretty obvious, but again the budding love between Jess and Kruger and seeing more of Elite and getting this amazing family vibe was so well done! I love this series and definitely will be grabbing these if they ever get a special edition. I didnt think I would gravitate towards the swim bros but they have definitely grown on me hahaha. I also love the mix of M/F and M/M (even if I lean more towards M/M some of the M/F stories were favorite in this series).

I have been binge listening, I am already on book 7, just trying to catch up on these things. I would recommend reading/listening to these from the beginning, it provides this amazing world and relationship building and interconnection you won't get if you jump around/skip some.

Kruger made me eye roll so much haha

Whoa is the 6th book in the Westbrook Elite series. These books could be read as a standalone, but I enjoy reading them in order so we can see when the characters from other books come in.

This book is about Ben and Jessica and is told from both of their points of view. Ben and Jessica have been friends for a long time. This book starts out with something happening and Jessica loses her memory. At the hospital Ben tells the nurses he's her fiancée so he can be with her.

As Jessica is trying to get her memory back Ben is realizing he has feelings more than friendship. However, what will happen when Jessica gets her memory back? Can they find who did this to Jessica in the first place before it's to late?

I enjoyed this book. I loved Ben's funny one liners, and getting to know these two. There were times I wanted to know more about one of the side characters, so I'm excited his story is next! I can't wait to see what happens next in the series. I have been enjoying this one.

Ben and Jessica’s journey takes place in Wʜᴏᴀ by Cambria Hebert, part of the 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘌𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦 series.⁣

Ben and Jessica have been best friends since childhood and have secretly been pining over each other until an accident gives Jessica amnesia and Ben becomes her knight in shining armour.⁣

Ben and Jessica are so adorable with how much they love each other, even before it was romantic love. Ben is so fiercely protective of Jessica. I also loved how protective both Ben and Jessica are of Prism and cannot wait for him to find his HEA. The Elite are an amazing found family, and I love how they keep growing.⁣

Michael Norman Johnson and Celia Stone were great choices to bring Ben, Jessica and their journey to life.⁣

Cambria has a way of crafting stories and characters that make you wanna be in their group. The bros of Westbury are no different.
I love these characters.
While each story has its own dramatics, Cambria took this story a direction I didn't anticipate and I couldn't stop listening.

A friends to lovers story that swept me up from the first words. I have to admit, when I was interrupted during my cleaning spree in which I was listening, I was inwardly frustrated for the interruption because I was so invested at that point. These two are the epitome of characters you just want to scream at for keeping their feelings so close to the vest, but the unconventional way the love comes to light makes for an entertaining story. Ben is the perfect boyfriend/fiance material-protective, endearing, respectful, sweet- you get the point. Younger me definitely would have loved a guy like him in my life, and I enjoyed getting to know the guy underneath. I also loved getting to know Prism better. These three had been friends forever, thus giving us a much needed insight into his character. The humor Ben brought to the story was terrific and the usual Elite banter was the icing on the cake. The suspense was light, and narrators brough the characters to life.

I absolutely love these bros and their partners. They love so hard and so fierce and I just can't get enough. Kruger was adorably corny and overprotective, just as I suspected he would be and Jess was incredible too. She was so strong, even while facing so much.

The suspense and action was awesome in this story. I was so drawn in and felt my anxiety rise during a few points in the story as Jess faced some terrible situations. I think Whoa wins in this department for the series.

I can't wait for the next story. I adore Prism and can't wait to see him get his happily ever after 🥹

The audio was great. The production was well done and Celia Stone was wonderful. Michael Norman Johnson wasn't my favorite pick for Kruger, but I still very much enjoyed this listen.

Thank you Pink Flamingo for the advanced copy!!

I love this series by Cambria and this book did not disappoint. Kruger was so protective and obsessive (in a good way) over Jess and when she gets hurt he can’t control himself and wants to take away her pain and stress any way he can.

I love Jess’ character too. She was fierce and so badass throughout the book asking for exactly what she wanted and not being afraid to call Kruger out on his BS.

I can’t wait for Prisms story, oh man I am seriously patiently waiting to see how his plays out!!

The audio was really good and i thought the narrators did a good job with the story.

Really liked the story

We are back with the Westbrook Elite bros for Ben Kruger’s and Jess’ story.  This was a great friends to lovers story with good suspense.  They have been in love with each other for a long time, but have stayed friends until now.  It was great having the swim team bros and their partners in this book.  Michael Norman Johnson and Celia Stone did a great job telling this story and bringing all the emotions into the story.

Whoa is the sixth book in the Westbrook Elite series. IT is a college, sports, best friends to lovers, amnesia romance. This is Jess and Kruger's story. It is an action packed slow burn with all the feels. Kruger is a protective, swoony male. They have great chemistry between them. It was an enjoyable read.

Michael Norman Johnson and Celia Stone did a great job bringing these characters and this story to life.
