Waypoints

My Scottish Journey

De: Sam Heughan

Narrado por: Sam Heughan

Journey deep into the Scottish Highlands in the first memoir by #1 New York Times bestselling author and star of Outlander, Sam Heughan—exploring his life and reflecting on the waypoints that define him

"I had to believe, because frankly, I had come so far there could be no turning back."

In this intimate journey of self-discovery, Sam sets out along Scotland's rugged ninety-six-mile West Highland Way to map out the moments that shaped his views on dreams and ambition, family, friendship, love, and life. The result is a love letter to the wild landscape that means so much to him, full of charming, funny, wise, and searching insights into the world through his eyes.

Waypoints is a deeply personal journey that reveals as much about Sam to himself as it does to his readers.

Amazing

Sam was so entertaining in this audio version. You felt as though you were on the hike with him with his descriptions and voices. You walk away with a “never give up” attitude.

Wonderful walk through life

This was a phenomenal book, brought inspiration to get through my own battles ahead!

This was not at all what I expected—in the best way possible

I’m not sure exactly what I expected, but this is not it. I’ve listened to Clanlands, and Clanlands Almanac; I liked them both! I loved the storytelling, but I thought that was due to Graham McTavish’s incredible knowledge of history. In both of these books, Sam Heughan served as the comic relief.

In this book, however, we get to see the man behind the carefully crafted image. Heughan’s journey was at times hilarious and poignant. He expertly intertwines the story of his youth, his long struggle to become a working actor, and a surprisingly sober glance into his personal life and his present day struggle to find balance in an incredibly unbalanced world.

If you’re looking for a book that inspires exploration of the great wide world, self-reflection, and a bit of healthy laughter, this is definitely the book for you!

Definitely would read his next book!

Sam gives such detail it’s like your with him❤️in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿! Snnnooodddd 😁😅😂🤣. Love it and the pictures.

I lost all track of time!

Fabulous storytelling abilities. I listened to the 1st five hours the first day. Then I decided to stretch the rest out to savor it a little longer, knowing darn well I was going to read the book next, and relisten to the Audible. This is a raw, honest and entertaining story of Sam's life. I loved getting to "know" him better with wee bits of humor tossed in for good measure. I had to reach for the tissues a few times as the story touched my heart and soul. I so enjoyed the inspiring adventure from start to finish of Waypoints.
