Vampires Don’t Suck is the first book in the Singsong City series. It is a standalone paranormal romantic comedy featuring elves, werewolves, witches, vampires, and angel assassins. It is packed with puns, battles, and a sweet, slow burn romance between an oblivious librarian assassin and the brilliant deadly vampire who rules the undercity with an iron grip. Also sushi.

Cozy, cute, funny and safe for work

The AI narrator was kind of funny. The beginning of every chapter jolted me back into real life. other than that, the story was hilarious and well written. It's a perfect listen while I'm on night shift because there are no s*x scenes. I enjoy all of the characters and I'm very interested in the world. Very fun listen.

the virtual narrator was hard to follow. all the characters sounded the same. the storyline was not my favorite.

Fun sweet supernatural story

The story was sweet and not too long. I think the FMC & MMC could have connected more but I also got the strong impression that the heroine was on the spectrum. I liked that because I could relate. She is super analytical and doesn't read social cues or handle relationships the way I think most neuro-typical characters would. I did NOT enjoy the AI narration. It was my first time with AI narration and I believe it should be reserved for kindle /e-readers. If you have Kindle you can have Alexa read out loud to you. AI narration is only marginally better and should ideally replace Alexa voice read aloud. Only real people should narrate true audio books. This is closed door with no explicit scenes/descriptions.

Good story but the virtual voice isn't perfect yet.

The virtual voice isn't bad but it does lack a bit of depth and enthusiasm that you get from a good narrator. Also there is a weird break when it reads out the chapter numbers that is slightly off-putting.

love it so far

I love it so far there is apparently two more books one about a gargoyle and one about an amnesiac I guess either way enjoying it also bittersweet the other book from this author

Virtual voice sucks

The story was fun, and I’m happy I got to listen to it. But I hope they hire a real person to do it and this was just a placeholder. Hell, I’ll read it for free. The fun of audiobooks is the acting and intonation. The usefulness is being able to listen when driving or doing chores. This was just like, drinking Soylent. I got my nutrition (a story I wanted), but it wasn’t enjoyable.

Funtastic story

This was a single point of view, paranormal, mystery, political intrigue with a dash of comedy. FMC a feisty, strong willed quick to throw a death rune and/or crayon at any moment.

MMC The scholar vampire, protector/ ruler of his domain,That happens to be the sweetest most forgiving monster to ever monster.

So much adventure and even more Sushi (I love the comedic relief that sushi brought to the story)

Would be so much better with a voice actor

It's a pretty good story. The authors writing reminds me a bit of Jody Taylor's style. it would be way better if there was a voice actor that could do the different characters. It gets a bit muddled sometimes trying to figure out what character is speaking at the time. This book would be worth the extra money to hire a voice actor. I would encourage the author in that direction.

Great story!

I really loved the storyline. It has interesting characters and a good plot. The virtual voice was about the equivalent of having Alexa read to you.

Horrible Narration

The narration was horrible. It was delivered in a monotone which is typical for AI. But to make it worse, there was little to no variation in the different character's voices making it hard to determine who was speaking.
