Love, love, love this book! I also loved that Katherine read it to us. I cannot even begin to tell you how precious the journey through each reflection has been to me. Every reflection has had a powerful truth, or an impact in such a positive way. And for those who think it might be all sad or depressing it is not, there is humor, joy and so much blessing to be found in learning about treasures in the darkness! I’m coming away, so encouraged and hope filled! Honestly, I’m going to listen to it again and probably again, it is worth it! So thankful for its publication and for this version on Audible!

Truly relatable

I am recovering from a hemorrhagic stroke and finding my faith along the way. Katherine’s pain and suffering is relatable no matter what your situation may be. Within 10 minutes of listening, I was in tears because she touched my suffering soul and reinforced God’s promises and love with scripture. This book is like a map that justifies all my feelings of despair and hopelessness and strengthens my faith in God’s perfect plan.

Tangible strength

I think most of us are tired of platitudes and want something that is solid and true. This book doesn’t reduce pain but doesn’t make it more than it is. It leads us to redemption, strength and hope. It is so good to have an anchor in the storm and hope for the future.

Snapshot of a life with hope

This book is truly a treasure! The telling of each reflection is a glimpse into a real and hard life, with just the right amount of detail to feel the story and to relate the lessons to my life with my invisible wheelchairs. I feel like Katherine is sitting beside me when she says, “If it’s true for me, could it be true for you, too?” And I am especially glad that the editors left a few of Katherine’s giggles in the final version. Alex weaves the story together with beautiful language that brings the story alive. The prayers at the end read by Alex are an unexpected bonus. I am sad that the audiobook is over and cannot wait to read the next one! May God continue to bless the telling of your story - HIS story!
