Great Read

Toxic was a great read by Nicole Blanchard. I absolutely loved reading Tessa and Grayson's story even when I shouldn't like Grayson. Tessa is a prison nurse who is married to the abusive prison warden. She broke all the rules for the handsome prisoner Grayson. I loved reading their story and even when things seemed hard for them, I rooted for the both of them. I can't wait to read more by Nicole Blanchard.

Great plot but want MMC POV

Listened to this book on audio and am stuck between liking it and meh. I feel like if the story was longer than I’d truly love it or if Grecin’s POV was added as well. Overall it was a good book and female narrator did a good job throughout the performance

love everything about this story! I want another one like it but haven't found anything as great!

I wasn't ready for this one!

I don't think I was ready for the graphic detail that this book gave me. I'm not one for really needing trigger warning, but if you have any, I definitely say to check them out before picking this one up, as things happening on page are written in a way that really brought them to life, and I can see how it might bother some. There were times I needed to step away, and as I said, these things don't normally bother me. That, to me, is the sign of great storytelling.

About the book, my feelings were all over the place. I found myself rooting for people at times, then hating them, then went back to thinking I knew what was best for them and wishing they'd take the path that I needed them to. Things did come together to a satisfying end, though the journey getting there was rough. My heart broke many time throughout, and I'm honestly not sure how Tessa survived it all. But she got her HEA, and that is all that I ask for.

I did this one by audiobook, and really enjoyed how it was all brought to life.

This was a quick read or listen. And on the whole I enjoyed it. But there where times when I just wanted more from both Grayson and Tessa. While at the prison I felt more of their connection. But it kind of fizzled after that. Grayson was kind of blah about everything and then he would have brief moments of tenderness that felt a bit jarring. The narrator did a good job with the audiobook.

She finally grew a backbone

Let’s just say that I enjoyed this book but I am so unsure why. 😂

Her husband/abuser is a POS and she starts out the book as submissive and just takes the abuse but then *enters* Greyson and BAM she finds her backbone.

This poor girl went from being abused at home to being used by Greyson to beaten again and then in love with her captor. What a whirlwind.

Somehow I couldn’t put it down though and do love that she grew a backbone.

Dark romance. 1POV. HEA. Standalone.

This is a Dark romance. I like the risk the author took with the setting.

New author and narrator for me. Not a bad listen. Is it bad that I wanted it to be darker? Bad things happen, but the overall feel isn't all that dark. I'm weird, I know. Anyway, I liked this alright. So much potential!!

not amazing but not bad

Maybe im biased, but i dont love story's about weak women. And this was a weak women.

Initially The voice of Vic gave me the shudders lol like what was Tessa thinking marrying him — as the story unfurls — we meet John Doe and sparks start to fly, sketches begin to surface as Tessa starts to open up to the new prisoner feeling the pull — upon hearing King’s voice as situations arise out of their control initially I likened Heaven’s character to that of Jared Leto’s Joker lol the way he toyed with Harley Quinn “Little Mouse” after a close encounter with the inmate Tessa asks him his name and then looks it up to confirm what he’s told her and upon further investigation Tessa uncovers a little more information about our hottt commodity — but as the story developed I found questions and their answers throughout I love how Gracen and Tessa have moved mountains against all their trials and tribulations a recommended. Read
