Male Narrator is a no for me...

The male narrator almost completely ruined the entire book for me. He has brief moments of mediocrity but is mostly just terrible. He is utterly WRONG to read romance. Maybe he’d be ok for a documentary.
The female narrator was ok.
The character development was a bit lacking but the story made up for that.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and will give the next in the series a go...unless the same male narrator is used. What a shame...

Great romantic story

The narrators were great and the story hooked you from the start. Totally recommend this.

Touchingly romantic and family fun

Enjoyed Jack and Elena and their supporting cast of family and friends. Jack has to overcome some major issues for love without it taking away from the romance and sometimes lightheartedness of the story. Elena may start off at the wrong place but certainly at the right time to find love. Don’t waver on this one like I did. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down.

great read

in the beginning, I wasn't sure what to think about this book. i wasn't sure if he was going to be a pushover or if she would. in the end, neither of them were pushovers. they learned to open up about who they were and how to make things work. the storyline was great and the narrators brought it to life. great read.

I really enjoyed reading this author.  I look forward to reading more books by this author in the near future.

Elena, and Jack

So many emotions. Tears (happy and sad), so many laughs, and high heat! it's a fast burn but it takes the characters time to catch up lol! Jack is the best hero, growly alpha male with no toxic masculinity. I know it sounds impossible, but it's so true! must read/listen!

Loved it

Loved it all from beginning to end. I loved the point of views, the voices, the plot-all of it. It was a refreshing love story full of growth, destiny, and Shakespeare vs Twain.

This was a great start to a series.

Jack is troubled and deeply broken, with good reason. The “meet cute” is a good one, though I wish he had come clean sooner. (Trying to avoid a spoiler)

Elena has her own reasons not to trust.

These two struggle to open up and admit what they have despite their chemistry being off the charts.

Ordered next book in the series before I finished this one. For me, that is the litmus test for a good review.

Be Still, My Heart

I settled into this audiobook expecting a pretty much run-of-the-mill formulaic romance. What I discovered was an intelligent, well written heartstring tugger of a story! Oh. my. goodness. I didn't expect that much magnetism, that much sass, that much spirit, that much angst, or that much hope. This baby is a power play beyond words, and a definite must read.

I loved the fun, flirty tone to the story, and the humor that ran throughout. Both Jack and Elaine were enjoyable characters from two very different worlds. While Elaine is a pure nerd and struggles with relationships, she's nobody's fool, not even the sexy as sin hot property quarterback's. She may allow herself to be led by her hormones a few times (but who can throw stones there??), but when it comes down to it, she won't allow herself to be run over by anyone. She's got smarts and a strong spine.

The amount of strength and resilience found in the characters in this book was refreshing. Not only were the main characters well done, but the ancillary cast was very nicely fleshed out. This allowed for some wonderful scenes within the story.

Be prepared for seriously steamy sex, adult language, and some terrific giggles. But have your tissues handy as well, because this story covers all the feels. Awesome read.
