Together with a handful of other survivors, including police sergeant Mulhaven and a mysterious Tall Man who knows more than Jack Reacher and Jack Bauer combined, they set out on a perilous journey across a ravaged landscape, facing countless dangers along the way.
As they travel, they discover that the resurrection of the dead is only the beginning of the world's end. The forces of nature seemed to have turned against humanity, and night brings horrors beyond imagination. With time running out, Elliot and his companions must find a way to escape the apocalypse, or perish.
Toward the Brink is a heart-pumping, action-packed adventure that explores the human condition in the face of unimaginable horror. It is a tale of loss, love, and the resilience of the human spirit, and a warning of the dire consequences that come when humanity ignores the warning signs of its own destruction.

Very entertaining/original Zombie Apocalypse story
About seven years ago I read Toward the Brink, it was my introduction to Craig McDonough’s writing/story telling. At the time, my comment was it was an interesting ZA origin story, and I was looking forward to reading more.
Fast forward seven years and several more ZA stories not to mention reading the entire The Brink series, I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook for Toward the Brink. I still feel the same about this story, it is very entertaining and provides a very good introduction to the series and the addition of Kyle Snyder’s narration enhances the entertainment value of the story I’m looking forward to listening to the reminder of the series. Hopefully, the next five books are in production.
