it's different and funny while still interesting and having a legitimate plot I've already read it twice and still enjoyed the audiobook although I have mixed feelings about the narrators I would recommend this series to most people

Really loved the story and finally an MC that isn't starting from nothing but instead a young master with a powerful and rich backer and i Really liked the part when he just shamelessly used his wallet to defeat a was stronger opponent. looking forward to book 2! Oh and the narration was really good too, no cringe moments with names or anything like that.

Not bad at all

First off, I want to state that this is the first book of this kind that I've read/listened to. I'm basing this review on the audiobooks own merits and not in comparison to anything else I've read. I really liked the story. I will say that the naming of everything in the terms they are described in (heavenly sword dragon of the earth realm side strike) through me off for a while. Once I got use to them though it was fine. That young master definitely wasn't cannon fodder in this book.

So, if you are into this type of book, I'd recommend it. The story is captivating.

This book is for a certain niche audience

If you are really into Chinese cultivation this is the series for you.
If you are into Chinese LitRPG culture and the ins and outs of that style of cultivation, will really like this.

Decent for new readers/listeners of the genre

Okay so this isn't a bad book, I've come across WAY worse cultivation novels (especially for western authors). In fact it's a relatively typical example of the genre. Which is kinda my problem with it, I've been reading these novels for about 10 years now and this is just average. If you are new to the genre then I can see why you'd find it enjoyable, but if you've read a few of these novels it's not all that exciting.

I've always loved cultivation novels, but this series is 100% A1 content for anyone familiar with cultivation novels. Highly recommend and pray he keeps the same energy going forward :3

That being said it isn’t for everybody, with all cultivation novels the ranking systems tend to be complicated and hard to follow if your are into traditional level systems.

I am eagerly waiting for the next one.
