C.R. Jane
An obsessive football player pursues a girl with airtight defenses in USA Today–bestselling author C.R. Jane's scorcher of a sequel to The Wrong Quarterback.
Jace Thatcher musthave her. Ever since he laid eyes on Riley, the Tennessee Tigers' star wide receiver has been consumed by the thought of making her his—possessing her, body and soul.
But Riley isn't a game to be won. She has scars that run deep, and a past that's never too far behind her. Riley's looking for a clean start when the cocky football player enters her life. His dangerously seductive grin has her feeling weak in the knees, blowing past the carefully crafted defenses she's built to keep her from making the same mistakes all over again.
Their hot and heavy encounter leaves Riley desperate for more—but falling for Jace might just be the worst play of her life. There's no point in running, though, because Jace will go the extra yard to get what he wants.
Narrated in duet style.

Jace reminds me so much of Ari who in the pucking wrong series was my favorite. The humor and banter between Jace his brother and his friends was fantastic and had me laughing out loud. As I listened to this book as an audio, it makes me want to revisit the pucking wrong series this time via audio. I have a feeling it's going to be a great time!
The narrators here did a great job expressing the emotions and bringing their characters to life. Lucas Webley also did a fantastic job changing his voice for the different male characters in the book.
I'm looking forward to Matty's book as well as Jagger's to continue to explore the characters in this world.

I thought I loved Parker & Casey, but they don’t compare to how much I love Jace & Riley. I went through a divorce earlier this year and I cannot tell you how much I needed an MMC like Jace. I cannot tell C.R. how much this statement, “For the ones who were told to stay quiet, who were kept in the shadows, who were made to feel like secrets instead of something sacred. This is for you— You deserve a Jace Thatcher” and how much this couple has meant to me on a personal level.
I know when a book hits so hard that you imagine yourself, as the FMC. Wishing and hoping you end up with an MMC like theirs. What I love so much about C.R.’s books are that the MMC ALWAYS falls first. And for me in my life it’s exactly what I need. Her MMC’s never disappoint, and boy did Jace exceed every expectation I had for him in his own book. He’s funny, charismatic and doesn’t know the meaning of the word no. And just like Parker he’s in it to win it. And the humor. OMG! His humor is EVERYTHING. Calling Parker and Matty, his bestilicious bros had me cackling from the first use. I loved it so much I renamed my book besties Facebook chat this, lol. It seriously makes me laugh every SINGLE time. And don’t get me started on Riley. She was the absolute perfection of Jace’s craziness. I think that’s the other thing I like. The FMC & MMC always manage to balance each other out.
Like with The Wrong Quarterback I listened to this one in tandem while reading and of course Lucas & Alexis killed it. I seriously just want to listen to all of Alexis’s narrations. She’s that good.
If you haven’t yet checked this series out it’s an absolutely must! This one is one of my top reads of the year and I cannot WAIT for Matty’s book.

One thing I love about C R Jane's books is the whole "one look," and they know. Well, the men mainly know, and the female can feel it, but fights it. There is something hot in the fictional world about a man so obsessed they'll do anything to get their SO.

The narrators did such an amazing job as always in C.R. Jane's books. This book is a duet and I love that the newer audiobooks so this now. The male voice is where it should be, even if it's in the females POV.
Alexis has narrated majority of this author books. Her voice is always amazing and comes across as one of my favorite female narrators. Her voice sounds young and beautiful. She also does such a great job at changing her voice for other female characters, and she keeps that same voice for them throughout the series.
Lucas Webley did outstanding in this book. He is the voice of this series so far. I like his voice and it's a nice change from the one who did the Pucking Wrong series. Lucas' voice is deep and had a raspy sound to it. When he performs certain parts, you can actually hear him make the noises associated with those lines (growling, gasping, whispering, ect.).
These 2 narrators together did such an outstanding job. Two power house voices that brought this book together beautifully. I could listen to these 2 all day!
I think I'm in love with this hyperactive, funny, stalking man, Jace Thatcher! His character is one that will leave you with an amazing and satisfied feeling when the book ends. Even though he does A LOT of questionable actions in this book to get his girl, (major red flags) you still have to love his personality. He is a feel good kind of character. I would compare him to a funnier Ari Lancaster. He is always making one liner/dad jokes that I think are hilarious.
Riley St. James is the quieter, stay behind the scenes kind of girl. Which is the total opposite of Jace who is in your face, everyone look at me kind of man.
Riley ran away from home, for very good reasons, and has started college at Tennessee. She runs into Jace one night at a bar and the chemistry/connection was strong. Jace knew he met the love of his life as soon as he saw Riley. She felt it too, but has very low self esteem issues, and a chronic illness that she thinks is a burden.
Once you understand why Riley acts the way she does, it will break your heart and make you want to go to war for her. It made me so angry with her parents as well. She is an only child and was treated poorly, neglected mainly by her family. Then the only person who showed her any kind of attention at home was not a great person. The showed her negative attention and messed with her heart and head.
After a one night stand in the bathroom at the bar between Jace and Riley, she bolts and never have him her name. Jace knew he had to find her and one he got her info, it was go time. He never stopped at getting her attention. He would do any and every thing for Riley. Have fought for her love, even if it meant doing some questionable things.
There was always something holding Riley back from giving Jace her heart. It's like she was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Once she starts letting herself go, and trusting Jace, her past comes back to haunt her. She knows that she loves Jace to much to let anything bad happen to him, even if she had to let him go. The only thing is, Jace have letting her go anywhere.
An amazing, must-read, must listen to book. I will always recommend a C.R. Jane book. She will always give you morally grey men with tons of red flags, yummy spice and an emotionally gripping plot.
