It is about getting you and yours fed and making it to the next day. With money being scarce and the wilds full of danger, many turn to mercenaries, witch hunters, beast slayers, and more. These lowly vocations fulfill a need: to take all the world’s violence and–hopefully–point it somewhere useful.

The setting is dark and realistic with amazing fight scenes. I could not stop listening to

Love the game and love listening to this while playing the game really helps you get into the lore

Brutality and Battle Brothers

One can enjoy the dark grim nature of this book for what it is and be immersed in the adventures of richter the witch hunter. Knowing battle brothers lore adds a bonus in imagery but is certainly not a prerequisite. Both the narration and writing are fantastic and before finishing the books, I’ve pre purchased the next two books to keep the story going.

Cool story, brutal world, cool characters. I enjoyed the narrators voices and found the story hard to put down once I started listening.

Graphic horrors in all the right ways

As a huge fan of the game, this really expanded on my outlook of what life in the world of Battle Brothers would actually be like. It's a great story, even if you haven't played the game. But those that have will get the subtle references and be able to appreciate the author for including them. Great narration too, no two characters sound alike.
