Acerca de esta escucha

With their usual skill, Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson have taken ideas left behind by Frank Herbert and filled them with living characters and a true sense of wonder. Where Paul of Dune picked up the saga directly after the events of Dune, The Winds of Dune begins after the events of Dune Messiah. Paul has walked off into the sand, blind, and is presumed dead.

Jessica and Gurney are on Caladan; Alia is trying to hold the Imperial government together with Duncan; Mohiam dead at the hands of Stilgar; Irulan imprisoned. Paul's former friend, Bronso of Ix, now seems to be leading opposition to the House of Atreides. Herbert and Anderson's newest book in this landmark series will concentrate on these characters as well the growing battle between Jessica, and her daughter, Alia.

Featured Article: The Definitive Dune Explainer

The new Dune movie is based on the classic sci fi novel, the first book in an extensive series launched by author Frank Herbert and kept going by writers who took up the helm after his death. The trailer for the upcoming film was released last fall, and since then, speculation and excitement have been swirling around the movie. At three minutes long, the trailer itself is a beautiful masterpiece, and it teases many of the important characters and aspects from the story. This post will give you a basic understanding of the book, its history, and everything you need to know about Dune to get you ready for the movie!

The story like all the books is enthralling. Good to escape into this world for a little while. Sad part is I've read or heard all the books. Look forward the Navigator book coming soon.

Brian, Kevin and Scott are a good team.

The characterization, story development, and callbacks more than exceeded my expectations. In these intermediary books between the main story, the goal is to give more details but this went far beyond simple characterization and details. Its a great book that expands the universe and gives us more stories about the characters we love.

More than expected, even for dune standards.

About average for the series. many missed opportunities for development and broadening of the plot. it didn't really get going until 2/3rds through.

I will say that I did finish listening to this book but it is probably my least favorite of all the books so far. Awesome narrator, don't think I could listen to a Dune book not read by Scott Brick, he is the voice of Arrakis.

Not exactly what I thought it was going to be.

I don’t get why any audiobook is divided as such. It makes is difficult to find you place or scrub through

3 hour long tracks

Excellent it was very good both content and depth and performance I enjoyed it very much.

Breadth

Please stop with using Scott Brick as the only narrator, he’s okay when with others, but he is just too drawn out, and dramatic on his own, and sometimes too similar sounding with his characters. I wish all the expanded novels were narrated by Simon Vance…..

Dune needs a new narrator or Simon Vance

A prequel and a sequel to Dune Messiah this fully fleshes out Bronso of Ix. I enjoyed the entire book. Frank and Kevin tell a damn good Dune story.
