Resumen del Editor

Book two in the stunning conclusion to Frank Herbert's worldwide best-selling Dune Chronicles

At the end of Frank Herbert's final novel, Chapterhouse: Dune, a ship carrying a crew of refugees escapes into the uncharted galaxy, fleeing from a terrifying, mysterious Enemy. The fugitives used genetic technology to revive key figures from Dune's past - including Paul Muad'Dib and Lady Jessica - to use their special talents to meet the challenges thrown at them.

Based directly on Frank Herbert's final outline, which lay hidden in two safe-deposit boxes for a decade, Sandworms of Dune will answer the urgent questions Dune fans have been debating for two decades: the origin of the Honored Matres, the tantalizing future of the planet Arrakis, the final revelation of the Kwisatz Haderach, and the resolution to the war between Man and Machine. This breathtaking new novel in Frank Herbert's Dune series has enough surprises and plot twists to please even the most demanding listener.

Featured Article: The Most Stellar Sci-Fi Authors of All Time

Science fiction is a genre as diverse as you can imagine. There are stories that take place in deep space, often depicting teams exploring or running away from something; stories that focus on life at the most cellular level, such as a pandemic tale; and stories that take place in times that feel similar to our own. Depicting themes of existentialism, philosophy, hubris, and personal and historical trauma, sci-fi has a cadre of topics and moods.

A fitting Tribute

As a completely addicted Dunaholic, I believe that Frank Herbert would highly approve of each of the books that Brian and Kevin have provided we readers who started the journey years ago. Sandworms of Dune brings the grand saga to it's final conclusion. I am sad there will be no more Dune stories, but I'm happy to have had the opportunity to participate...

The Book of the Future

Best series ever. One would think it would never end. But what an endless ending.

Great book. Bad audio editing.

Scott Brick does an amazing job as usual. However, unlike every book that has been released as of January 2021 that features Brick, this one needed to have a few people fired. Fully 30% of the chapters of the book had the final sentence run, without pause into the intro of the next chapter. It's incredibly disruptive and jarring to the story and experience.

As this was recorded 14 years ago the sound engineer, their boss, and QA are likely no longer working for Audibles production department, Audible should have a sound engineer go back and a few seconds pause between the numerous screw ups throughout the audio performance. Again, due to the sound engineer and editing process not the storyteller.

An Okay Finale to a Great Saga

An uphill battle was upon Brian and Kevin to finish the Dune Saga. Despite having Deus Ex Machinas, plot holes, and many needed trimmings, this was still an okay ending that brought me closure on the saga of Dune. Only go through Hunters and Sandworms if you really want closure. Frank’s 6 Dune books are absolutely worth experiencing but the final 2 books of the saga were not anywhere near as compelling for me despite some good moments and good narration from Scott Brick. When it’s good, it’s hard to stop. When it’s meh or okay or not good, the story can feel like a drag with constant repeats of things we already know. And there’s still some technical oddities that happened as I listened to it.

Lazy ending

I didn't like the deus ex machina kind of easy and convenient solution to all threads and crises. I would elaborate but don't want to go into spoilers.

Bravo

This series is awesome! At times it throws you off because of a huge space of time between the stories.( there could be at least three books, between them especially between Road emperor of dune and the heretics of dune) But all is said and done, it does make you feel how insignificant we really are. Our petty wars, destruction of our resources and our cruelty to one other. As I read this the year is 2020. we have the coronavirus killing the people. How long will it take us? Perhaps longer than the Dune series. I hope not. This is really not a series to make you give up, but hope for a better future. The characters are fantastic.Norma being the oracle, well that's just the cherry on top. I loved it. Kevin and Brian, great job. And of course Scott great performance.

That'll do pig. That'll do.

If you can get past the author inserts it wraps up nicely. Still horrifyingly cringey on the pedophilia overtones though.

I hate when stories end!

A solid finish to a long tale. This story was packed with incredibly deep lore. The stories could go on for ages, and from this reader — certainly HOPE that they do! The saga of Dune should live on.

Amazing finish

perfect end to the Dune Saga. Brian does his father proud. Frank would be more than happy with the Finale.
